🔥 That Nagging Tennis Elbow Won’t Go Away? Read This. 🎾💪

Lateral epicondylalgia (commonly called tennis elbow) is rarely just an elbow problem.

Yes, we need to address the painful tissue with the right combination of:
✅ Mobility work
✅ Forearm strengthening
✅ Grip strength training
✅ Progressive loading of the wrist extensors

But if you’re only treating the elbow, you may be missing a huge piece of the puzzle. The video addresses, mostly local mobility and weakness issues, but make sure you’re looking globally.

The shoulder blade (scapula) and posterior shoulder muscles provide the foundation for upper extremity function. When these muscles aren’t doing their job, the smaller muscles and tendons around the elbow are forced to absorb more stress than they were designed to handle.

Think of it this way: if the shoulder isn’t creating stability, the elbow ends up paying the price.

🎯 A successful rehab program should focus on:
✔️ Improving mobility where needed
✔️ Building forearm and grip strength
✔️ Strengthening the rotator cuff
✔️ Developing scapular stability
✔️ Restoring full upper extremity strength and function

Don’t just chase symptoms. Address the entire kinetic chain and give your elbow the support it deserves.

💥 Strong shoulders. Strong scapula. Strong grip. Better outcomes.

🚨 Why We Do This Exercise in ACL Rehab 🚨

ACL rehab isn’t just about getting stronger in a straight line.

In the mid-to-late phases of rehab, athletes must learn how to control rotation, absorb force, and decelerate efficiently before they can safely return to cutting, sprinting, and sport-specific movement.

In this drill, we’re challenging the athlete with alternating lateral rotational forces while she maintains control through her trunk, hips, and lower extremities. As she rotates and resists movement from side to side, she’s developing:

✅ Deceleration mechanics
✅ Transverse plane control
✅ Dynamic trunk stability
✅ Hip and knee control during rotation
✅ Functional internal rotation of the moving leg
✅ Functional external rotation of the stance leg
✅ Coordination needed for opening up to sprint, defend, and change direction

These are the exact movement patterns athletes use when reacting to an opponent, opening their hips to run, or controlling momentum during cutting and defensive movements in sports like soccer, basketball, football, and lacrosse.

The goal isn’t just a stronger knee—it’s building an athlete who can confidently control force in every plane of motion.

Train movement. Train control. Train confidence.

Rotator cuff rehab isn’t just about isolated shoulder exercises.

The shoulder was built to move with the entire body. 🔥

In this phase of rehab, we’re challenging:
✔️ Multi-directional shoulder stability
✔️ Open & closed chain control
✔️ Dynamic stability under movement and load
✔️ Rotator cuff + scapular muscle integration
✔️ Core control and force transfer
✔️ Anterior & posterior oblique sling connection

The goal isn’t just to “strengthen the cuff.”
It’s to create a shoulder that can absorb force, transfer force, and react dynamically during real movement and sport.

When we connect the upper body to the lower body through the trunk and sling systems, we build a more resilient and efficient athlete. 💪

Strong shoulders don’t work in isolation.
They work as part of a coordinated system.
