We’re incredibly honored to be hosting this Regional Championship at The Gravity Vault. This event brings together some of the top youth climbers from across the Northeast, and it means a lot to welcome athletes, coaches, and families into our gym. Getting Ready Our team has been hard at work behind the scenes, bringing in a team of elite routesetters from across the region to create a competition experience that’s challenging, thoughtful, and worthy of the athletes who will be climbing. The Regionals Championship is a part of the path for these young athletes to reach the USA Climbing Nationals Championship in Salt Lake City, UT. Member Information The gym will be closed on Saturday, March 28th and reopen at 9:00am on Sunday, March 29th. All 1-month and 3-month memberships from Melville will be accepted free of charge at our Westbury, NY location during this time, so you can still get your climbing in while the competition is underway. Volunteer With Us For our local community, this is a unique opportunity to be part of something bigger. We’re currently looking for volunteers to support the event throughout the day. Volunteers will receive free food during competition breaks, access to pro deal gear discounts through USA Climbing, and the chance to be part of an unforgettable experience while working alongside our routesetters, coaches, and fellow volunteers. For many volunteer positions no experience is necessary. For any belaying positions a Gravity Vault Belay Certification is required to volunteer. We’re proud to host this event and excited to share it with all of you. - - - @usac.region91

Hard to put this one into words. I’ve been coaching this sport longer than most of the competitors have been alive, so it was pretty special to be there with Parker for his first championship. Even better, he had a great day and showed what he can do with a podium finish 🥉. He walked away proud of himself and a little better than yesterday. Our moto lately “just be better than you were yesterday”. The whole @teamcrg_gbury had a great comp we placed 3rd as team, with many athletes moving onto Boulder Divisionals.

WHY YOU SHOULD VOLUNTEER TO BELAY FOR THE USAC COMP: - Climbing isn't like other sports. While climbing is a personal endeavor, every climber needs a belayer to support them and protect them from falls. Our competitive team, and competitive climbing teams around New England, rely on volunteers to meet this 1 to 1 ratio at competitions. Otherwise, competitions cannot happen! - As a volunteer, you'll get to watch the next generation of youth climbers challenge themselves both mentally and physically on impossibly hard climbs. It's truly awe-inspiring to watch the grit and determination from these young athletes. Help them make their climbing dreams come true! - We'll provide coffee, water, snacks, and breaks while you belay. - You'll get two free passes to the gym! Use them yourself or bring friends to introduce them to a life changing activity! Sign up to volunteer to top rope or lead belay at tinyurl.com/usacvolunteers
