POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

That’s a wrap on our @usacregion32 Youth Qualifying Event!

Last weekend, we hosted our first @usaclimbing Youth Competition in over 5 years, and the energy was high. We were stoked to welcome over 180 athletes across the region including 75+ competitors from Team Mesa Rim.

Huge shoutout to all the athletes, and a big thank you to all the staff and volunteers who helped make this event happen.

This week we’re celebrating one of our own. ❤️

A huge congratulations to Claire for representing our gym at USA Climbing Youth Nationals! Making it to Nationals is an incredible accomplishment, but anyone who knows Claire knows this moment didn’t happen by accident.

From the very first day she walked into the gym, Claire has been the kind of athlete every coach hopes for - kind, respectful, determined, endlessly curious, and incredibly hardworking. She’s the first to listen, eager to learn, thoughtful in her approach, and always willing to put in the work. She’s not only become an exceptional climber but an even more exceptional young woman, and we couldn’t be prouder.

We also want to recognize the person who’s helped guide so many of these journeys - our head coach and setter, Matt.

Matt pours his heart into this team every single day. He sees the potential in every athlete, challenges them to grow, celebrates every milestone, and somehow still manages to be one of the most humble, genuine, and caring humans you’ll ever meet. The countless hours he spends coaching, setting, mentoring, encouraging, and believing in these kids don’t always get the spotlight they deserve, but they’re the reason moments like this are possible.

Claire, thank you for representing our community with such grace, grit, and heart. And Matt, thank you for being the kind of coach who changes lives far beyond the climbing wall.

Your Black Rock family is so proud of you both 🖤

My USAC Division 3 Championship photos from are live. I shot Saturday morning and Sunday morning (both session ones). Tag yer friends. @usacregion31 @usacregion32 Congrats to all that made Nationals 💪🏼Come visit and climb outside with us in Flagstaff this summer 💕🥰

One of my cameras was glitching all weekend. Sent into repair. Boo! So I didn’t have a lot of short lens stuff turn out. It’s very hard to get the best angles from the ground for sport but I did what I could.

Thanks to the setting team, coaches, gym and all the volunteers that make USAC events a fun place to be. 🥰

It’s beautiful to see these athletes stay competitive while still building friendships at such a young age. This is something that feels especially apparent in the climbing community, where beta are shared and cheers are never discriminatory. Grateful to be a part of this amazing community and capture moments like these. 💙🤍🖤❤️💚 Side note: final round session 2 edit in progress…
