Absolutely thrilled about the recent get-together between AWE alumnae from Nigeria and Kenya! 🌍
@debisiodeleye leading the Nigerian team, connected with 15 brilliant AWE Kenya alumni at the American Corner in Nairobi.
The goal? To build amazing collaborations, engage alumni, and open doors for cross-border trade. Oh, and the networking and alumni stories were a fantastic bonus!

Guess who else joined… Esther Kihangah from the US Embassy Nairobi and Ella Wafula, the local partner for the AWE program. Talk about an incredible lineup!

Our hearts are full of gratitude for this cross-country meetup. Challenges may be diverse, but our shared dreams as women, entrepreneurs, and community builders unite us.
Whether it's policy hurdles or business growth, we're tackling it all side by side. The power of women entrepreneurs is truly awe-inspiring, transforming not only our families but entire communities.

And here's the exciting scoop: Nigeria's awesome crew is lending a hand to Kenya's alumni in setting up an alumnae network.
Hats off to @statedept for making the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs a reality across 80+ countries.
Major shoutout to @usinnigeria and @usinkenya for making this game-changing exchange happen. Let's keep the momentum going!

Climate Change affects everyone, but it’s stiffling rural livelihoods. Those living in vulnurable situations, especially women and girls, are the ones who mostly bear the brunt of environmental, economic and social shocks...

AFRIKAPU engages marginalised women and youth in Kenya’s conservancies and informal settlements in economic citizenship through sustainable income generating activities, to make them self-reliant and achieve economic and climate resilience.

Here is a story of some of the AFRIKAPU artisans in Amboseli and Yatta, two places in Kenya, hardly hit by the recent droughts.
