Recently, Coach Jon recently attended the 2026 MidwayUSA Foundation National Youth Shooting Sports Conference held in Columbia, Missouri.

The conference gathers industry professionals to further their impact on youth shooting sports through education, networking, and collaboration. He met great supporters of youth shooting and learned a lot about programs around the country.

He is honored to have been asked to be a panel presenter next year to provide insight into how college shooting programs utilize their foundation endowment accounts to fund operations and how to best prepare young people for shooting opportunities in college.

Back in May, I had the chance to compete in my first-ever TXYESS State Tournament.

By the end of the weekend, I had earned 3rd place in both JV Trap and Sporting Clays. 🥉

At the time, I’d only been shooting for three months, so I wasn’t focused on where I’d finish. I just wanted to compete, learn, and see where I stacked up.

That tournament pushed me to keep raising the bar, and it’s still one of my favorite milestones from this season.

2026 YESS Nationals

The only way to describe this shoot and season is a blessing. Competing in the hardest and most competitive division, leading the nation on two sporting courses. Finishing the week with a top 10 finish overall, a super sporting National Championship, and a sporting National Championship. Only dropping 7 birds out of 200 was definitely the best I have shot all year. Running a 97/100 and a 96/100 would not have been possible without the endless support from my family. Congrats to Clay for trap doubles national championship. Winning half of the events between the two of us.

Proud doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Caden earned 🥉 in both JV Trap and Sporting Clays at the TXYESS State Tournament this weekend. He secured the Sporting Clays finish after a rain-soaked shoot-off, staying focused and pushing through the pressure. 6 clays away from JV HOA runner up. 👊🏻

The hard work, discipline, and countless hours he’s put in are showing. Watching him compete with confidence and composure on a stage like this has been incredible. Grateful for the coaches, teammates, and everyone helping him chase this sport at a high level. 🙏🏻

Skeet 91/100
Trap 90/100
Sporting 86/100

Keep working, keep learning, and keep stacking reps. We love you dude!

What a weekend at the TXYESS State Tournament! Watching Caden compete across skeet, trap, and sporting clays made me proud in ways hard to explain.

People see the scores, but they don’t always see the time, discipline, missed targets, extra practice, and determination behind it all. He continues to grow not only as a shooter, but as a young man — focused, humble, and hungry to improve.

No shortcuts. Just hard work, reps, and consistency. Proud of you, buddy. Keep chasing it!
