Congrats to Spring A.C.E Award recipient, Michelle Barnes!

Michelle, a Parent Facilitator-Title 1 with Woodlawn Elementary, was presented the award and a $500 cash gift, during a surprise Zoom presentation & staff meeting this afternoon! “She helps students understand not only the importance of school but also the importance of being a good human being.” commented Jayci Roberson, Woodlawn Elementary Principal.
When asked about Michelle for this award, a peer stated, “I don’t know that I’ve ever worked at a school that had a “Michelle”, someone who is universally there for students, staff, administration, and families alike. She fills so many roles for us and I can’t imagine Woodlawn without her.” Lawrence Schools Foundation A.C.E. Award (Acknowledging Classified Employees)
Recognizes and applauds classified employees whose efforts benefit students, faculty and staff, and others within and outside the USD 497 community.
Congrats to Michelle Barnes!

SHOW YOUR APPRECIATION!

Say “Thank You” to our hometown heroes with these yard signs! Each sign is $20 with $10 going to support the Lawrence Schools Foundation’s work to distribute free meals and the Douglas County Foundation Disaster Response Fund to address local issues created by the COVID-19 crisis. Each sign is 24” wide x 18” tall and printed in full color on both sides. For an additional $10 you can have the sign delivered to the address you indicate (we will not knock on your door, we will just stick it in your yard in a contactless way). Deliveries must be within the Lawrence city limits. Support our local heroes and make a donation to worthy causes.

Signs are available for purchase and pick up at FASTSIGNS at 2450 Iowa, suite P, or calling 785-727-4848.

Southwest didn’t let a little social distancing stop us from showing our office staff how much we appreciate them on Administrative Assistant Day. Yes, we did make sure to stay 6 feet. #TogetherButApart #BulldogBRAVE
