How did you serve your community on 9/11 Remembrance Day? @usdawol, the Office of Service Learning & Community Engagement, @usd_rotc, and the USD Student Veteran Resource Center hosted a 9/11 Remembrance Climb, a blood drive, and honoring ceremony. #neverforget #911remembrance

The entire Coyote Community will continue their 9/11 dedication to service by coming together and continuing the @911day vision of honoring those who lost their lives during the 9/11 attacks by "taking back the day" and creating positive memories, contributing to the well-being of our communities. That event is the Feed the Funnel meal packing event, a trademark of The Pack Shack, and will happen on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, 2-5:30 pm, during USD's Dakota Days, adding a service component to our spirit week!

Feed the Funnel is open to the entire USD campus, the Vermilion Community, and USD alumni! This event has been graciously funded by a grant awarded to the Office of Service Learning and Community Engagement, and USD AWOL by 9/11 Day and @americorps

The link to sign up is in the link tree in our bio.

See you around the Funnel!

May we never forget the lives taken, and may we continue to support all who were affected by this tragedy.🇺🇸

Today, several #USDPIKES participated in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, honoring the 343 firefighters who gave their lives on September 11, 2001. Each climb is 110 stories – 2,071 steps – the height of the World Trade Center. Together, we climbed more than 31,000 steps in remembrance. Thank you to @usd_rotc for inviting the PIKES to participate!

We will never forget the courage of first responders and the lives lost on 9/11. God bless America.🇺🇸

ROTC Students had the opportunity to walk the ground where history was made—tracing D-Day from the 82nd & 101st Airborne jumps to the beaches of Utah and Omaha, and the fight inland that helped liberate France. No virtual staff ride can compare to standing on those cliffs, feeling the cold sea air, and seeing it all with your own eyes. Powerful, emotional moments—from blood-stained pews in Angoville to raising the flag at the Normandy American Cemetery—remind us why we study and honor this history.
