I’m beyond blessed to announce that I’ve committed to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of South Dakota at the Division I level.

Coach Aaron Rooney and Kathy Walker - thank you for seeing potential in me, pushing me, and guiding me into the person I am today. So much of who I am as a diver comes from the time and belief you guys invested in me from the start. To my family, friends, and teammates - thank you for your constant support.

Thank you coach Jill Smolczyk for this incredible opportunity to be apart of the program!

Above all else, I thank God for truly walking with me every step of this journey. He had a plan all along and I’m grateful he led me into this next chapter.

Our next WHM Trailblazer recognizes Jill Smolczyk, whose excellence in the pool & leadership on the deck continue to shape the @usddiving program.

As a student-athlete for @sdcoyotes, Smolczyk was named the 2008 DII Women’s Diver of the Year, won the 1-meter national championship, & finished runner-up in the 3-meter competition. A six-time All-American & four-time NCC champion, she established herself as one of the most accomplished divers in program history.

Recently inducted into the USD Athletics Hall of Fame, Smolczyk has returned to Vermillion as head diving coach, where she now mentors and empowers the next generation of Coyotes.
