Meet Maria, owner of @usedworkclothes, who is a recent recipient of our Visual Improvement Program (VIP)! Located at 5201 Long Beach Blvd., Used Work Clothes is a family-owned store that offers new, used and vintage workwear. At Used Work Clothes, you will find a plethora of popular name brand shirts, jackets, pants and more! After experiencing vandalism to their storefront, Maria reached out to our team about the VIP grant. “The Visual Improvement Program has been a huge help. It allows me to keep my business open while also investing in the appearance of my storefront and the community, I’m proud to be part of.” said Maria. Next time you or a loved one is looking for work clothes, shop at Used Work Clothes! The VIP grant provides direct financial assistance to local small businesses and nonprofits impacted by crime or vandalism on or after October 1, 2023, offering up to $1,000 to help cover repair costs. It felt weird posting anything on Friday because even though I had a really nice day with friends at the Getty, almost the second I finished recording this video, I learned someone I'd known for over a decade died that afternoon, someone really important to a close friend, someone my age, someone I have complicated feelings about.
