We spend our lives as architects designing spaces, shaping experiences, and creating memories. But some of the most meaningful moments are the ones life designs for us.

Back at USEK, where my own architectural journey began, this time with my daughter as she prepares to graduate in architecture and embark on the same professional path, with her own dreams, vision, and creativity.

Two generations, one passion, and a very proud father.

Mobility is more than getting from one place to another. It shapes who can access education, work, healthcare, opportunities, and public life.

During Civic Circle 4, participants explored The Right to Move and reflected on the barriers people face every day across Lebanon.

If mobility is a right, what is stopping people from accessing it?

A glimpse of last year and a sense of what’s ahead.

At the MEA Family Business Research Conference 2025, participants were asked one question:

What’s one insight you’re taking back to your business, classroom, or research?

Their answers captured the perspectives and takeaways that extended beyond the conference.

Ready for the return?

What if disability inclusion was not something reserved for specialists, but something we could all contribute to?

This is one of the messages we are bringing to students at USEK, where Tri-pulley is delivering sessions on disability inclusion as part of the Sustainable development course.

Through games, real stories, challenges, and examples from our own experience, we are sharing what we have learned over the years. What worked, what didn't, the mistakes we made, and the small adaptations that sometimes made all the difference.

But inclusion cannot be learned only in a classroom!

That's why we also brought students to Bossa Nova Hotel, where two persons with disabilities were employed through Tri-pulley's model back in 2020. Six years later, both are still working there!

What started as an opportunity for a six month part time job became six years of employment, experience, independence, and belonging.

The visit gave students the chance to hear different perspectives and understand what inclusion means for employees, families, and employers. It also showed something important to future business leaders: inclusion is not just a social responsibility; it can be a lasting success for a business too.

And perhaps the most important lesson we hope students will take into their future careers is that you don't need to have all the answers to start being inclusive. You need to be willing to listen, try, adapt, and learn.

Thank you to USEK for connecting education with real life experience, and to Bossa Nova Hotel for showing that giving someone an opportunity can lead to something much bigger than we initially imagined.

The forces shaping family business across MEA( Middle East and Africa) are becoming harder to ignore.

Navigating the shifts that will shape their future, from shifting economic landscapes to questions of leadership and governance, requires deeper understanding.

This calls for a regional perspective that brings research, business experience, and diverse voices together.

Coming soon!
