Your UI is lying about finality — and it isn't the UI's fault. ⏳

A transaction hash comes back in about 200ms. A receipt takes twelve seconds. Finality takes thirteen minutes. Most apps collapse all three into one checkmark, and that gap is where users lose money they were told they'd spent.

This one is co-authored. Four slides on what the interface believes, four on what the chain will actually underwrite.

What's inside (swipe →):
• The optimistic lie — a hash means accepted for broadcast, not happened
• State machine — submitted, pending, confirmed(N), final. Most UIs ship two
• The hash — computable offline, before the network agrees to anything
• Confirmations — a risk dial, not a yes or no
• Probability — nothing is final, some things are just expensive to undo
• Reorgs — dropped, reordered, reverted, replaced
• The collision — user has access, merchant has no money
• Patterns — show the count, build a rollback path, be honest about waiting

The fix is not more spinners. It's a UI whose vocabulary matches what the chain actually promises at each stage.
