Pt. 1 Immersed in the Capital Experience:

I am proud to announce that this Fall 2026 semester, through the ASU LDNSL and the Policy Design Studio, I will be the Communications Intern for the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC), which works in the Washington, D.C., ecosystem and across the country to strengthen U.S. development, diplomacy, and defense through America's civilian-led tools. USGLC advocates for a robust U.S. International Affairs Budget and works to make U.S. international affairs programs a key element of American foreign policy.

As the communications intern, I'm assisting the USGLC communications team in effectively messaging, showcasing, and broadcasting the important work USGLC does. I will support the creation of official USGLC messaging and visuals across all platforms. My work will also include an internal newsletter called the Daily Gab, which highlights 6 diverse events and updates on international affairs, foreign assistance, and geopolitics in relation to USGLC initiatives. Other tasks might include writing blog entries, highlighting quotes from events, creating video clips and photos, and posting on various platforms.

My supervisor plays an important role on the USGLC team as the communications and press manager. I look forward to her mentorship and advice because she has vast experience in communications and politics. Through my supervisor's mentorship, I hope to develop the tools needed to be an effective messenger, communicator, and relationship-builder. Furthermore, I will use my tasks at USGLC this fall to become a more effective communicator, a stronger user of digital creative platforms, better informed about legislative processes, and a more impactful writer.

A few expectations I have for my internship experience include a final blog post on behalf of USGLC and a detailed, effective 10-minute presentation on a specific element or policy within the U.S. International Affairs Budget. I hope to connect this unique experience to my broader academic and professional interests in politics, U.S. geopolitical dynamics, and sustainability.

Indiana’s economy doesn’t stop at our state line. From agriculture to manufacturing to life sciences, our prosperity depends on trade, partnerships, and stability across the globe.
A few weeks back, I attended the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition’s Heartland Summit. It was a powerful reminder that American leadership abroad, and the alliances we build with it, are what make peace and prosperity possible.
I’m concerned that current policies are pulling us away from the partnerships that have long kept Indiana and America strong. Now more than ever, we need to invest in relationships abroad. I can only hope change is coming to Capitol Hill and that it delivers the checks and balances our foreign policy depends on.

America's global leadership matters.

It supports U.S. jobs, helps small businesses compete internationally, and creates stronger economic relationships across global markets.

I recently spoke with the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition about why economic competitiveness and international engagement are so important to the work we do at CULTIVA.

The impact goes both ways. Stronger businesses at home. Stronger partnerships abroad.

That's why this work matters.

International trade isn't just about moving goods across borders.

It's about building relationships, creating opportunities, and connecting businesses to markets where they can thrive.

At @cultivaglobalsolutions_ , our work sits at the intersection of international trade, economic development, and strategic partnerships. That's why participating in forums like the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (@usglc) Impact Forum is so valuable.

As a small business, having the opportunity to engage with organizations dedicated to strengthening U.S. global leadership and promoting economic growth abroad has been incredibly meaningful.

The conversations happening today around trade, investment, and development will shape the opportunities of tomorrow.

As we prepare for the Caribbean Economic Forum 2026 in Barbados next week, I'm reminded that sustainable growth doesn't happen in isolation. It happens when governments, businesses, investors, and institutions come together with a shared vision.

The Caribbean's future will be built through collaboration, investment, and trusted partnerships.

Thank you to the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) team for creating spaces where these important conversations can happen.

When America leads, Colorado wins. 🇺🇸

Earlier this week I joined the @U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) on Capitol Hill and met with @senatorhick to discuss how smart investments in diplomacy, innovation, and global engagement strengthen our economy, create opportunities, and keep our communities secure.

Thank you, Senator Hickenlooper, for meeting with our Colorado delegation and for your continued commitment to representing Colorado and advocating for policies that strengthen our economy, security, and future! @usglc

🇺🇸 Honored to attend the Impact Forum in Washington, D.C., hosted by the U.S. Global LeadershipCoalition (USGLC)
The forum brought together leaders from government, business, technology, national security, nonprofits, agriculture, faith, and civic organizations to discuss how America wins when it leads on the world stage. The conversations highlighted the importance of diplomacy, international partnerships, economic security, and global engagement in advancing prosperity and security at home and abroad.

As we approach America’s 250th anniversary, the forum’s theme — “America Wins When America Leads” — served as a powerful reminder that leadership, innovation, and collaboration remain essential to addressing global challenges and creating new opportunities for future generations.

A sincere thank you to the USGLC for organizing such a meaningful forum and creating a platform for thoughtful dialogue and impactful connections.
It was also a pleasure to meet, reconnect, and create memories with so many inspiring leaders from Colorado & beyond!

Our team was honored to represent Humanity & Inclusion at @USGLC's #ImpactForum2026 alongside policymakers and business, national security, and humanitarian leaders! 🌍

In a time of widespread cuts to foreign assistance, we were encouraged by this gathering of advocates who are speaking out about the need for the US to keep showing up for our neighbors around the world. 🤝 Three women in business attire and lanyards stand beside each other and smile behind a branded HI table and banner
