Krakow, Poland - Day 9

So tired of travelling. But it’s a nice kind of tiredness, the one where you feel rested but simply physically exhausted. It’s the first time I’ve travelled for so long by car, driving almost every day for 100, 200 or 800 kilometres somewhere. Yet, don’t get me wrong, I’d do it again. Travelling by car is much more fun than travelling by plane, at least for me.

Here we are, in Krakow once again. It’s my third time in this city. The first two times were only short stops while travelling from Zakopane. Now we stayed here for two nights, hoping to finally catch the vibe and understand what Krakow is about. Why do so many people love it so much? Maybe it was my exhaustion, but I didn’t catch its vibe at all. Or maybe it’s because we travelled to Krakow AFTER Prague. In comparison, Prague blew Krakow away.

We took a free walking tour. The guide was meh… Somehow, he lacked spirit, something unique. He showed us some neat places and some cool facts, so it’s not all bad. But our guide in Prague was much more fun.

We saw Wawel Castle, which I had zero expectations for, but the inner courtyard turned out to be damn beautiful. The whole old town is pretty nice, especially the park that surrounds it. We found a buried bike, which was quite funny. Our stay ended with terrific light, which made the whole city look way more beautiful than the harsh sunlight of day. After all, I was still quite disappointed.

Yet, strangely, after getting back home and editing these images, I felt a shiver run down my spine. There were some pretty awesome (to my eyes) photos. We then watched “Orijaus Kelionės” on YouTube about Krakow as well. Maybe I missed something there. Maybe I should give it another go. The fourth try?

I think it might have something to offer. It won’t be my number one place to go, but maybe it could land in the top ten at least. We’ll see. Maybe next time it’ll be better.

This is the last of the travel series. Thank you for reading and following this short trip. I had a lot of fun writing my mind out. See ya!

Adršpach, Czechia - Day 3

Very cool place with giant rocks.

We visited the “Giant Waterfall” as they call it amongst these rocks. It’s in one of the pictures here. Can you see it? Yeah, me neither. That’s how great it is. Not sure if they lost the meaning in translation or what happened, but it was only just a small drizzle. Though still nice, rocks were looking cool in there.

We squeezed through the mousehole. Yep, you heard it right. It was a true mousehole from its width, but the height obviously much taller (else we wouldn’t fit as obviously we’re taller than mouses). Since we fit there, we can call ourselves fit now and be ok not to go to the gym in our age. Beat that all you gym people.

What else… Idk, there’s a lake there. A beautiful one actually. Very clear water, but not allowed to swim (as always in such places). I wondered if I accidentally fall in, would that be called as swimming or not?

We went above our limits, though at first we wanted to go less. But there was much much more to hike there. We had no time and power. I saw, just further along the path, a sign saying “Great Panorama”. Well fuck that, I’m not falling for their greatness no more. Pure translation error.

Maybe we’ll return someday, with better preparation (like gear for starters) and more water than half a liter for two people. Ya ya, we were totally unprepared. It was fun.

Sicily.
Some images from the recent trip to Sicily, along with released new blog post. Link to my blog is on my bio.
Many of these are of our little house that we rented, and some surrounding cities that we explored. There will be more images.
