Utility Updates Session

One of the most anticipated sessions of the CEOs & Leadership conference is the Utility & IPP Updates.

This session brought together representatives from 23 utilities and 3 IPPs to share ongoing projects, operational priorities, successes, and challenges from across the Caribbean energy sector.

The session provided valuable insight into the region’s evolving energy landscape, including renewable energy and grid modernization projects, infrastructure development, workforce and human resource challenges, and emerging operational priorities.

A key point of update came from CEO & President of JPS, Mr. Hugh Grant on the challenges and successes following the passing of Hurricane Melissa.

More importantly, the updates created opportunities for collaboration, allowing utilities to identify peers working on similar initiatives, exchange lessons learnt, and explore shared solutions. For solution providers, the session also offered a clearer understanding of where their technologies, services, and expertise can best support the sector’s needs.

This remains one of CARILEC’s most valuable knowledge-sharing platforms, connecting regional experiences with practical opportunities for partnership and progress.

Haugland Virgin Islands is proud to provide power in paradise. ⚡🌴
We’re honored to support the Rebuild US Virgin Islands initiative alongside @usviwapa — upgrading transmission, distribution, and substation systems across St. Thomas and St. Croix.
That includes installing nearly 9,000 composite poles to replace aging wooden infrastructure. These poles are built tough — engineered to withstand hurricanes and deliver reliable energy for decades. 💪🌪️
Together with @usviofficeofdisasterrecovery, we’re building a stronger, more resilient energy future for the Virgin Islands. 🇻🇮

STEEMCC keeps showing up for our community! ✨

This week at @usviwapa Employee Health Fair, our STEEMCC outreach team was on site checking blood pressures, blood sugars, and encouraging employees to take advantage of our tele-behavioral health services at St. Thomas East End Medical Center. 💙

We also highlighted mental health by sharing our Affirmation Board — take one, leave one. WAPA employees were such an uplifting group, filling the board with positivity and encouragement for one another! 🌸

When you give to V.I. HELP, you are directly supporting programs and services that STEEMCC provides to keep our community healthy, strong, and thriving. 🌱

In 2016, a near-fatal experience led to a profound spiritual awakening, which has deeply influenced my life and music. In these last 9 years, Jesus has changed my life. The journey to where i am today in my walk with him and myself has been one fraught with many challenges My music now carries a message from the Creator, focused on love, knowledge of God, and the anticipation of a coming new life. " JUST FOR TODAY " is a part of that story.
