Selected players must commit to at least 2 practices per week. DM us with which tryout practice you’ll attend, then check in with Kriti or Sai when you arrive. The Next Big Thing! UTA aerospace engineering student Orion Horstman designed and built his own electric guitar in the UTA Libraries' FabLab Shop Room. Seriously. With time, hard work, and help from our staff, he turned padauk and sapele wood into a one-of-a-kind Telecaster-inspired guitar. (And on the other side of the first floor you can plug it in and rock in The Studios!) Got a project in mind? Come talk to us. We’ll help you figure out the tools, the processes, and the next steps. The resources are here, so, what will you create? Orion Horstman and the guitar he created in the Woodshop at UTA Libraries FabLab.

Why do books get banned? What makes a story so “dangerous” that someone tries to lock it away? “Censorship is so 1984” referring to George Orwell’s classic, 1984, which has been challenged and banned in places around the world for basically predicting what happens when information gets controlled. From dystopian nightmares to coming-of-age stories that made adults nervous, some of the most famous books ever written have been targets. Curious which ones and why? Some may surprise you! (Captain Underpants? Really??) Stop by the exhibit on the 2nd floor of Central Library and find out for yourself. And pick up some stickers and bookmarks! . . . . #BannedBooksWeek #UTALibraries #LetBooksBe #ReadBannedBooks Banned books week exhibit on the 2nd floor of central library.
