🎶I sure don't mind a change🎶
💯
I remember the first time I drank. My parents were getting divorced and my buddies convinced me to throw a party at our house to help me deal with the pain. After that night, my drinking escalated. I was never a one beer or one mixed drink kind of guy. When I started drinking, I didn't stop until I was passed out. For the next 20 years, alcohol was a part of almost every big moment in my life. I used it as an excuse to celebrate, to mourn, to forget, to socialize, to function. If I was going to a bar or place that had alcohol, I would drink on my way there so I'd already be drunk when I arrived. The nights I could remember, I stumbled through and needed help to the car or to bed or to the toilet. I thought alcohol made me resilient to pain, invincible. Until one night that I don't remember, my best friend sent me a photo of me passed out in my driveway. That was my rock bottom. The next day I went searching for myself. Realizing that in my attempt to erase the bad moments in my life, I had erased the good ones as well. Alcohol had taken over who I was. After a lot of prayer and crying out to God, I decided I wanted my life back and alcohol couldn't be a part of that. It's been 10 years since that day. It hasn't been easy. I still crave alcohol. The numbness it gave me. I fight the urge to drink almost every day. But I never want to be that person I was again.

🎶I've been fighting this fight for so long🎶
💯
Life is one minute everything going great and the next minute everything sucking. The difference now is that I don't get drunk when I'm in the suck. I just run and ride it out. It's not easy. I'm struggling. But I've made it through the suck before and I'll make it through this time. One day at a time. 3,650 and counting.

Run your own race. You're going to see people flying by you or posting their achievements online and it's going to make you want to go their speed and follow their plan. Don't give in and don't give up. It's you vs you and you're doing great!

Day 260!

Officer Stufie reporting for duty!

Yes, ANOTHER race. This time, we take things off road and head onto the trail! 20 km of beautiful trail (I say this now, we'll see how my legs treat me)!

This is my first time running Beaver Flat, so hills, have mercy on me! 😉
