Much appreciation to @gaby_moreno and UCSB Arts & Lectures for an unforgettable evening of music at Isla Vista School. It’s not every day that a Grammy award winning artist takes the stage in a school multipurpose room. Thank you for inspiring our students and families!

At our first board meeting of the year, we re-approved some of our amazing community partnerships. Thank you to our partners for providing incredible support and opportunities to our students! These are just some of the amazing partnerships that our students and families benefit from. More to come!

📚The first days of school always bring so much joy and possibility. Feeling grateful to be part of such a special community — both at school and beyond.✏️

Great job to all of the students, teachers, parents, and volunteers who put on Beauty and the Beast Jr. at Isla Vista Elementary School! The talent, creativity, and joy displayed over the two-hour show was just incredible. IV School is fortunate to have a thriving drama program that dates back two decades. Bravo! 🎭

Did you know that we have a garden education program at each of our schools? This morning, we celebrated the efforts of Holly Erassarret and Jenny Johansen, two Hollister School teachers who secured a $10,000 grant from @sproutsfnd to enhance the garden program at their school! This grant is funded by Sprouts and the shoppers who round up when checking out at the grocery line. Huge thanks to Sprouts and also to Genevieve Schwanbeck and our partners at @exploreecology! 👨‍🌾📚

Happy Back to School Night, GUSD! I had a great time visiting Isla Vista and El Camino — two of our nine schools. Thanks to Assistant Superintendent Bradley, Principal Reyes, Principal Chavez, and all of our educators for providing such a warm welcome to our families. This is going to be a great year for our school community!
