Rehearsal photos as we prep for ‘Anurakti’ by Jahnavi Sheriff and Friends 🌸 PERFORMING ON THE 17th of October as part of the KNMA DANCE FESTIVAL Inspired by Akka Mahadevi’s vachana Naanolidenayya Cheluvange, the work explores love beyond worldly attachment. Through the journey of a woman who encounters adoration, desire, and earthly relationships, the piece asks what happens when one experiences a love so profound that all other forms of love lose their grip. 10 years in the USA!!!🇺🇸 A journey that changed me in ways I never expected. A whole decade of becoming, growing, losing, finding, loving, and living. None of this would have been possible without my parents. My dad, my forever hero, gave me the courage and wings to dream this big. My brother has always been the pillar of our family and someone I trust blindly. And somewhere along the way, I found the love of my life, and I’m so grateful that he’s beside me as I complete this beautiful decade. ❤️ To every friend who became family and made this place feel like home, thank you. You know who you are. India will always be home 🇮🇳, but I’m grateful I built a little home here too, not a house, but a family of incredible people. I wasn’t planning on celebrating just yet, but apparently these people had other plans. 🥹 My person + two of my best ones turned an ordinary day into a memory I’ll keep forever. Some milestones are better when they catch you by surprise. 10 years. Countless stories.
