Join us TOMORROW for a tabletop exercise designed by MPP candidates at @uvabatten! Part of @uvacareercenter's 2026 Intelligence and Security Careers Week, this exercise will simulate U.S. rapid evacuation of personnel in Bahrain. Students will navigate complex questions and make difficult decisions about who gets priority, how fast people can move, what assets are available to move them, and how the U.S. balances getting people out safely against maintaining its broader military and diplomatic footprint in the region. This is a great opportunity to experience some of the real-world decision making processes our federal agencies employ, and it’s open to students of ALL years and majors. Register using the link in our bio–we hope to see you there! A decorative image with the text: "Crisis Simulation: U.S. Rapid Evacuation of Personnel in Bahrain. We have a new day and time for our latest course offering! 📢❗ The Soldier, The Citizen, & The State (LPPP 3559-003) will now hold classes on Thursdays from 2:00 – 4:30 pm. The course will still be held at Shannon House 107. Exploring the inevitable tension in the relationship between a democracy and the military that serves it, The Soldier, The Citizen & The State will help students build a foundational understanding of the norms and institutions critical to ensuring proper civil-military relations. One of the main objectives of this new course offering is to break down the United States’ siloed approach to developing civilian and military talent through shared, applied coursework and programming. A key element will be a national security simulation in which students will assume roles and responsibilities of civilian and military leaders, hone best practices for healthy civil-military relations, and learn how tactical decisions can have strategic consequences. This will be a great opportunity to learn through action and meet real national security practitioners with decades of experience. Click the link in our bio for more info!
