Athlete highlights #3

@adenbbarnes hits a double and ATPR at 607. Deadlift has been steady gaining steam for aden, the difference of 1 taking larger jumps week to week and 2 reintroducing stiff legs have shown exponential pay off. This block Aden also double 511 on squat (Double PR) and 375 for 2 repeat singles (-2.5 ATPR).

@smb27vt takes 220/485 x 2 for a 10KG ATPR. Squat is more of the same here for Sam, steady gaining steam, pause squats on the secondary to focus on keeping positioning (as we had some slight stability issues to start) and pushing that top end on the primary. 500+ come meet day seems like a certainty at this point. Sam also hit 480 x 2 on deadlift (ATPR Match for a double) and 248 x 1 (comp standard PR).

@cfathlifts squats 240/530 x 2 for a +2.5KG ATPR. Over the last 2 blocks, squats have simply clicked for Collin. Increasing accessory intensity, particularly on the hack squat has produced an absurd amount of support for his squat. Keeping momentum, I’m very confident we see us breaking the 550 mark come 4 weeks. Collin also doubled 623 (Double PR Match) and benched 320 (+2.5KG ATPR).

@ira.deshields pulls 227.5/501 x 1. Ira’s deadlift approach is far different than anyone else in program. Simply due to the fact he has the best leverages. On the primary we’re pushing heavy ascending sets of 5 to a fatigue single, and pulling that for a speedy week 4. This proved massively successful as we were able to knock out a 15KG ATPR here, and I’ll certainly be looking to lean into this approach in coming blocks. Ira also benched 226x1 (+2.5KG ATPR), and is slated to squat 330-353 today for a double PR and at minimum ATPR match.

@_amberlandry continues to absolutely crush it, particularly on the bench press benching 177/80KG for a +2.5KG ATPR. More of the same here really, just pushing increasing intensity throughout the week with a 2ct single on the Monday, and heavy ascending sets on the Thursday, in a sense we’re peaking throughout the week and were able to produce an excellent product come primary. Amber also pulled 303x2 (+2.5KG ATPR) and squatted 286 x 1 (-7.5KG ATPR).

@rnhlifts has a similar story to that of Amber, as she also checks off a 2.

Down but never out, slow start to the block but we were still able to carve out a solid product with momentum approaching 4 weeks out.

Athlete Highlights #2

@_amberlandry benches 172/78KG for a +5KG ATPR. Last block we made a slight adjustment to the macro, and started to see noticeable improvement. This block we kept on with that and pushed the secondary day higher intensity and it yielded amazing results.

Week 4 also Concluded with:
Squat: 291/132.5 x 3 (Triple PR Match)
Deadlift: 286/130 x 3 (+7.5KG Triple Pr, -5KG ATPR.

@cfathlifts squats 501/227.5 x 3 for a +7.5KG triple PR. This block we went back to some of our roots in the realm of accessories paired with pushing the secondary squat we caught traction fast.

Week 4 also Concluded with:
Deadlift: 601/277.5 x 3 (Triple Pr Match)

@rnhlifts benches 143 for a +7.5KG PR. For several blocks now bench has been a concern for Reese. However over the last couple block, we began to catch traction. With this, a minor macro adjustment paired with higher secondary intensity pushed us far beyond what we had expected for this block and i couldn’t be happier.

Week 3/3 also concluded with:
Squat: 242/110 x 3 (ATPR and Triple PR Match)
Deadlift: 286/130 x 3 (+5KG Triple PR)

@smb27vt squatted 462/210 x 3 for an ATPR and Triple PR. When Sam started with me he had exceptional foundational strength, we just needed some technical adjustments. With these, we have unlocked something big for Sam, and I foresee 500+ on squat being achieved very shortly.

Week 4 also Concluded with:
Bench: 237.5/107.5 x 1 (AT Comp standard PR)
Deadlift: 480/217.5 x 1 (+12.5KG ATPR)

@ira.deshields squats 330/150 for an ATPR match and a triple PR. While Ira’s dominant lift is deadlift, squat has been catching steady momentum over the past few blocks and it was on full display here. More of the same from a programming standpoint, staying the course of high intensity secondaries has continuously proved effective

Week 4 also Concluded with:
Bench: 220/100 x 1 (+5KG ATPR)
Deadlift: 474/215 x 2 (ATPR Match)

@adenbbarnes benches 381/177.5KG x 1 for a +2.5KG ATPR. With Aden we’ve just been playing into his strengths, heavy pressing and chest focused accessories have yielded very positive results and we will continue to build on this, 400 is right around the corner.

Meet Recap: Amber Landry : 56KG Class : 21 : 391 DOTS : 7/9

Overview:
While the time between Amber’s last meet (March 28th) and this one (June 27th) limited is to 3 blocks, the efficiency during this time was outstanding. Amber didn’t miss a single lift throughout, and was casually ticking off PRs across the board as early as week 2. This was reflected in meet, as Amber did not miss a single lift on strength. While technical errors hindered our specialty area (Squat), now we know what to work on and I foresee Amber easily surpassing the ~420 DOT range come November, and being a serious podium threat for Collegiate Nationals come April 2027.

Squat: 122.5KG/270LBS
Amber’s squat progression has been impeccable. Throughout prep, we saw rep PR’s getting shattered as early as week 2, old rep PR’s becoming backdowns, all signs pointed to a massive PR on the platform, as she checked of a comfortable 303 on week 3 going into the meet. We smoked the first attempt at 271 with no concern, and made the jump to 297, which we also hit comfortably on strength, but missed on depth, we kicked it to 303 on the third hoping to match the ATPR, but unfortunately we slightly missed on depth again. As far as training goes, we are merely going to focus on sinking deeper as a added concept, as I feel as if our approach from past blocks is far from broke, so I see no need for a fix. Despite the lackluster performance on the individual lift, Ambers resilience was especially impressive. Oftentimes if a lifter goes 1/3 to start the day, it’s easy to mail it in and let that mood leak over into later attempts. Amber was able to rally her frustration into motivation, crushing 2 more PR’s, ending the back two thirds of the day 6/6.
