We had the opportunity to bring students to the Navajo Nation to learn about traditional foodways, cultural practices, and the knowledge passed down through generations. From preparing tamales to sharing in the process, these experiences create meaningful connections to Indigenous culture and community🌽

Such a full-circle moment! 🤍

I had the opportunity to attend the UVU Presidential Scholarship Ball, and it was so special to see how things have come full circle. From preparing the food as a culinary student, to working the event as an employee, and now getting to experience it as a guest. Three different perspectives, one incredible event. Feeling especially grateful for the generous people who make scholarships and opportunities like these possible!

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can give back is our story.

Chef returned to @uvu.cai not just as a former professor, but as someone willing to share the struggles, lessons, and experiences that helped shape both the man he is and what F&E has become today.

From sharing knowledge with the next generation of culinary professionals to standing alongside Sim Gill and giving back to a local school, the message was simple:

Share your story. Share what you know. Share what you have. Most importantly, share the love💛

Because what we’ve been through means even more when we can use it to pour into someone else✨

Navajo Nation Fair 2026! 💚 We took students down to the Navajo Reservation to be part of the parade and to recruit for Utah Valley University. We had an amazing time!

If you are ever asked to a tasting of Chef Todd Leonard's food, the answer is YES!!! Not only is Chef Todd a dear friend, he is one of the best chefs ever. We were invited to a filming about the incredible Culinary Arts Institute at UVU and a sneak peak at the food to be served at the upcoming President's Ball in October. The food and friends were over the top, but my favorite part is always interacting with the student chefs and sharing our passion for the food.

The scholarship gala!!
This event was (seemingly #ijustworkhere ) a hugeee success in raising funds for Culinary Arts students here at UVU! We got to serve in the new restaurant on top of the Smith Engineering Building (which does not have a set opening date yet) which is beautiful inside and out!
My class made the Entree, which was a meat trio- Beef Tenderloin, Minature Oxtail Pies topped with Beef Bacon and Mashed Potatoes, Sunchoke Puree, Demi-Glace, Thumbelina Carrots, and Broccolini! It is not pictured because we had to move super fast :(
This was the most fun event I have done this year and I'm soooo excited to go again next year!
