____

Only a few days left until ŞUAQ.

We’ve gathered all the artists of the main stage in one poster. Save it, explore the lineup, and if you haven’t already – start getting excited with us.

We can’t wait to be back in Charyn Canyon, and we’re deep into preparations for the night ahead. We hope you’re just as excited.

And yes – we’ve still got one more thing to share on Monday ✨

A glimpse into how ŞUAQ’s mapping comes to life: ideas, tests, overnight installation, and the processes that usually remain behind the scenes.

This season, the visual programme brings together several distinct practices in media art. Through projection mapping, the artists explore the interaction between digital imagery and the natural environment, creating an additional dimension between the physical landscape and virtual space.

Grief in Suspension /Part 1

2026 @eternal_terra_ear collective project.

The idea is to build a website that looks and works like a contemporary physical data center but what’s stored inside is actually ritual memory. We will use footage from funerals, mourning traditions/burial rites from all over the world found on YT and archives: crude and true videos lost between the mass of data on the internet.

Conceptually we want to represent the inherent humanity of a system built by humans, that with its functionality, stockage, numeration, is not human at all. In simple words, to create a point of exchange between what is human and what is not. The website will be a sort of testament, for the biogenetically modeled people or the machines in the future, to teach how fear and reverence of death influenced mortal beings, to make them grasp what death meant. It will be a storage that can exist also without us but basically collects what is most human about us.

Grief in Suspension /Part 2
Link in bio embedded in ete main website
2026 @eternal_terra_ear collective project

The fear of death encapsulated in a dead environment. Why does death define what is human? Fearing and Respecting death is a biological trait around which humans built entire cultural structures that basically defined us as humans, and separated us from other animals. Just think about what made us develop technically so far: memory, traditions. The idea that something can go on even after the tomb, that something can be remembered, stored..That’s why the attraction to “dead” machines or “dead” stocks of data is quite paradoxical.

The act of storing is human because as an act itself we do it because we fear loss, death etc. But the concept of storage, of a data center, that can indeed exist without humans to guard it, gives that empty, liminal and dead sensation, even if it contains what is most precious for humans. “Storing what is most human in the most humanless space, showing humanity in the machine and death in the human practices”. In some way, by making these videos “revive” in a data center, we create a bridge between biology and machines, helping both future and contemporary humans to understand more of themselves.
