We're taking care of business. 💪🌻

Last month, we led by example and replaced more than 2,500 square feet of non-functional grass with water-wise, native landscaping at the South Salt Lake Community Center. This partnership with Slow the Flow was supported with funding from Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District, and brought to life by amazing volunteers from OC Tanner through the United Way Day of Caring. We expect this garden to save over 75,000 gallons of water per year, all while providing habitat for native birds and bugs, and brightening the day of everyone who walks past it.

This new oasis will serve as a demonstration garden for community members to find inspiration and see what is possible when you remove your grass. Visit sslc.gov/water to learn about rebate programs that you can use to help fund your own landscape conversion project.
