🧀 #TapClipOfTheDay:

Erin Clementich (@erin_a_l; @erinclementich_dances) here would probably tell me not to consider her a Wisconsinite.

If she does, it’s totally fair. Originally from Devils Lake, North Dakota, Erin is currently a professional dancer, choreographer, and teacher based in the Twin Cities in Minnesota. She is an apprentice for Collide Theatrical Dance and for @titn_tapdance. She is also a dance teacher for @premieredancers in Prior Lake, Minnesota, online tap teacher for Bold Expressions Dance, and a summer teacher/choreographer for her hometown studio @msoddancers.

Growing up in Devil’s Lake, Erin was trained in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, acro, modern, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, and musical theatre under the direction of Miki Noltimier, Kelcee Ewert, Kinsey Malarkey, and Brittany Noltimier.

So, what’s her connection to Wisconsin? Erin attended the @uwstevenspoint where she earned her BA in Dance and Arts Management, Balanced Body Certificate in Pilates, and experienced dancing on a collegiate dance team. She studied under Michael Estanich, Jeannie Hill, Sarah Olson, Pamela Ludetke, and Amy Beversdorf. At UWSP, Erin also got to work with guest artists Heather Cornell, Monique Hailey, and Jeffrey Peterson. Erin performed in 8 college dance shows and choreographed for one of them. Her choreography was selected to represent UWSP at the North-Central American College Dance Association Conference hosted by UWSP where she was also a student conference coordinator. Erin has been a performer for Fort Totten Little Theatre for 7 productions and choreographed the two previous productions “The Wedding Singer” and “Legally Blonde The Musical”. Erin has experience teaching kids ages 3-18 and loves to help dancers feel confident in a positive learning environment.

This is Erin with some slick moves and steps back in January. Iconic. 🔥

🧀 Happy Thursday! Meet Kenna Kramer (@kenna.kramer12; @kennakramer_dance; @kennakramer_tapdance) who, like Katherine Kramer (@katherinekramerprojects), is also from the state capital, Madison.

Start your Thursday with Kenna performing Buster Brown’s “Laura” (in a video I rotated myself…)!

🧀 Happy #TapTuesday. Starting the day with a friend of mine originally from suburban Milwaukee, Izzi (@izzitaps).

Izzi is a semi-professional tap dancer who has since relocated to to the desert of Arizona. Izzi earned her BA in Dance from the @uwstevenspoint in 2023 where she choreographed and taught locally. She now teaches and performs in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area with @tapzen247, @dxxtap, and most recently @classicalfusiondancecompany. She is and has always been grateful for the Arizona tap dance community for embracing her with open arms!

Start your Tuesday with this clip from February. 💜

Happy Monday. Got a bit of news for you all.

I will be traveling to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for a conference tomorrow and I will be there until Saturday.

It makes me wonder about the tap dancers of Wisconsin, a place known for cheese, dairy, cows, beer, the Packers, and the (National League champion!) Brewers. There are several, to be sure.

If you are a tap dancer in Milwaukee or anywhere in Wisconsin, or are originally from Wisconsin, please talk a little about what it’s like to be a tap dancer from the Badger State. Also, have you interacted or collaborated with any other tap dance artists from this state?

#TapClipOfTheDay No. 2:

Surely you were paying attention to the caption in the previous post?

I said that Erin Clementich (@erin_a_l; @erinclementich_dances) also performed a senior tap solo at the Dance World Cup in Dublin, and this is it.

See? You should always read the blurbs I write, no matter how TL;DR they tend to get. 😊

Anyway… Erin’s self-choreographed solo, titled “Get Happy,” got the audience and the judges happy, because this solo placed 15th overall! Congratulations, Erin! Very well done! 💛

Words cannot describe the pride I have for my fellow Stevens Point dancers. I had the chance last week to experience the American College Dance Association conference in Minneapolis and watch my partner and friends shine and their dances make it into the Gala at the end! So So much dancing, I took classes from @carltheflinker @katie_gutmann @jackattackdance @jclynsmith_dance @marcianosilvados @lichiaoping @abarukas_dance @cheng_chain_chain Jess Pretty and many more!

The first picture is from @graceanne.rendernick ‘s work titled ‘Invertebrate’ a duet with the dancers @vpdancer1 and @toniwuestt
The other UWSP pieces we took were a large group piece called ‘Casas Collided’ choreographed by Kate Gomez-Moore
And a piece in the informal concert: @leah_scherer_dance ‘s ‘Bound’

The last video is a small taste of the wonderful classes and events I witnessed over the week with choreography by @abarukas_dance and @katie_gutmann and then put my skills from Kate Gomez-Moore’s class this semester to work at a queer club with friends and had so much fun living as myself. I am so grateful to dance!!!

We were so honored to celebrate Susan Gingrasso for receiving the 2025 NDEO Lifetime Achievement Award!

Susan H. Gingrasso, MA, CMA, is a dynamic and influential figure in dance education. Susan developed the dance major at UWSP, leading the program to national prominence as program head. Here dedication to fostering interdisciplinary relationships and implementing a student-centered approach to dance education earned her the prestigious NDEO’s Dance Educator Award in 2006. Throughout her years at UWSP, Susan’s impact extended beyond the classroom. She served NDEO as Director of Resources Review, co-chair of the Applied Strategic Plan, and member of the Nominations Committee. In addition, as the DEiP Associate Editor, she authored the Practical Resources for Dance Educators column and supported both emerging and established NDEO authors through the “What to Publish” sessions with Helene Scheff. Susan made a significant impact on Wisconsin’s dance education standards. A contributing author to the Wisconsin Curriculum Guidelines in Dance K-12, she has been involved in nearly every revision of Wisconsin’s Dance Standards, co-leading the 2018-2019 state dance standards wiring process. Associate Director of the Language of Dance Center (LODC), Susan introduced the re-envisioned the Foundations courses to engage participants in playfully exploring, dancing, and using the Movement Alphabet in practice. This revitalization increased participant agency and success. Since becoming Executive Director, she has been instrumental in developing online LOD courses, building new partnerships, as well as supporting professional development sessions for NYPS and Fontana Unified. Susan ins indebted to Ann Hutchinson Gues, our Language of Dance founder, for her incredible gift to dance and dance education. She is grateful to her LOD colleagues who fleshed out her idea to develop a student-centered, constructivist pedagogy of notation. Detailed in Theresa Heiland’s “Leaping into Dance Literacy through the Language of Dance,” this innovative pedagogy evolved through researching ways to enter, experience, reflect on, and apply the Movement Alphabet in coursework.
