POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Our higher institutions of learning are slowly becoming institutions of highness—literally.

It is to stem the scourge of drug abuse that Haven of Victory Development Foundation (HOVI), in partnership with relevant stakeholders - UNDP, NDLEA, NAPTIP, University of Abuja and others, convened a High-Level Stakeholders Event on the National University Students Drug Advocacy Club (NU-SDAC).

It was more than just an event; it was a decisive step toward reclaiming our campuses.

The Founder and CEO of HOVI, Tochukwu Victoria Nwanna, delivered a resounding welcome address that set the tone, reminding us that young people are not just affected by this crisis, but are central to solving it.

We had a keynote speech by Dankolo Shehu Mohammed - Assistant Commander General of Narcotics (ACGN) and Director of Prevention & Sensitization at NDLEA, who provided powerful insights into prevention and national response efforts.

A compelling paper presentation was delivered by Professor Freedom Chukwudi Onuoha, Professor of Political Science at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a leading voice in security and conflict studies, highlighting the link between drug abuse, insecurity, and youth vulnerability.

The conversation deepened with:
• A policy brief presentation by Dr Damian Attah (PhD), Research and Communications Consultant at HOVI
• An advocacy presentation by Uzoma L. Ezeson, Media and Communications Consultant

And to crown it all - the launch of the NU-SDAC App Hub.
A bold innovation enabling confidential reporting and real-time tracking of drug trends across universities.

This is not just awareness.
This is action.
This is a movement.

Behind every public strength is a private story.
Behind every great woman, there’s not always a man, but sometimes, there’s one who believes so deeply in her that she never doubts herself.

And that belief can build nations.
This is the story of @obyezeks.

Women-led businesses drive economies, yet they remain underrepresented in public procurement.

This #IWD2025, we
@DOTakeAction
reiterate our commitment to #AccelerateAction for #AffirmativeProcurement, to ensure that Women-Owned and Led Businesses (WOLBs) don’t just have policies in their favour, but real access to public contracts.

We invite partners from the public and private sectors, international bodies and legislators in accelerating the adoption and implementation of gender-responsive procurement in Nigeria.

For ALL Women and Girls: Rights, Equality and Empowerment.

Happy International Women's Day!
