Here’s @5ohcal ‘s perfect time capsule Firebird he snagged last year. Apparently this ride was customized in the ‘70s & roamed the streets of the San Francisco Bay Area. Thankfully this car was saved in the nick of time from being repainted to black & given wire wheels…

Lately I’ve been trying to step out of the bubble.

Drifting has been my whole world for so long that I have become a little burnt out. I have been feeling a strong pull to explore the other subcultures within our automotive realm. So when my friend Cal asked me if I wanted to check out an old-school hot rod show to burn through some rolls of film I could not resist.

The level of craftsmanship here is unreal. Every part polished, every panel perfect, every build a lifetime in the making. These are just people who love what they do and never gave up on doing it.

It’s a sea of older guys. Jackets stitched with the names of clubs that have been around longer than I’ve been alive. No vlogging or Instagram handles to be seen. Just groups of friends who’ve been building together for decades. It’s beautiful.

I hope drifting can hold onto its youth long enough for it to grow old like this. To have half century deep crews. To see our hoodies at the track in 2060. To still be here. I want to be part of that.

It’s not about where the man lives, but what he does when he leaves the house.
