When people say “lax is life” it sounds like a cheesy saying. But over these past 8 years that phrase has come to bring on a whole new meaning. Lacrosse has taught me about life. Lacrosse taught me to channel my emotions; compose myself in a way where I don’t compromise competition but also don’t misrepresent God; to give something all your effort; that no matter how much you may want it you are not guaranteed a victory; my attitude and effort is all I can control; that the most important part of being a teammate is encouraging others; and that the relationships made on the field last off the field once that final whistle is blown. Like every sport lax was not without frustration, blood, sweat, and bruises. But it has brought me so much joy. I am so sad that my time has ended with the Tulsa patriots but nonetheless am I have made so many memories! Sydney thank you so much for joining me and hopping on this whirlwind of ride with me. I am so grateful for your friendship and wouldn’t have wanted anyone else. Girls from Hot Sauce, Wolverines, Red Dirt, Oil City, and Patriots thank you for creating so many precious moments and lessons, I wish you all the best and thank you you for who you are and how you have impacted my life. Mom thank you for pushing me in the recruiting process and showing up in all kinds of weather and every possible way. From parent to club owner you have truly supported me like none other. And lastly Dad, thank you. I know you were emotional after my last game but so was I. I am going to miss being yelled at from the sideline (and I truly mean it). I am sad that this was the last time I will ever call you my coach but I’m glad I was able to. You have taught me so much beyond lax and I’m going to miss our heated strategy discussions, combined excitement, me feeling your pride after a game, and late night talks about everything lacrosse. I really love you Dad and nothing I say can ever tell you how much I loved you as my Coach 🤍. This is not the end but it is an end, #99 out.
