Workshop with @vadbritschool at the @thebritschool

@vadbritschool students where encouraged not to produce clothes but to instead produce ideas. The aim of the workshop was to introduce them to originating ideas through play, exploration and experimentation. Garments come later.

By being brave and exploring the possibilities, the students were able to generate and originate their own ideas. This is a starting point. They are know being pushed for the rest of project to align these ideas to current systems within culture, society and fashion in order to u Dee stand where their ideas sit and belong.

$Year 12 FMP photography + display at exhibition Rosie Bea Bishop Photography,Film,Print FULL FILM COMING SOON ‘To love me is to suffer me’ This body of work explores the enduring weight of female insecurities, inherited anxieties and the silent histories carried forward through generations. Drawing conceptual inspiration from the fractured relationship of characters Hermia and Helena in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the project explores the friction between concealment, suppression and exposure. The large scale textile piece utilises photographic emulsion to embed imagery of hands onto fabric, creating a tactile metaphor for restraint and psychological tension. The accompanying film draws on the poetic surrealism of film maker Maya Deren. Through an intentional choreography of figures wrapping themselves in heavy textiles, the film uses texture as a narrative device trapping the audience within an endless cycle of concealment. Together these mediums form a monument to the the things women leave unsaid yet share. Photography -@rosiebeabishop Model- @evie.coleman18 Music- @mothercain$
