A group of Pasifika Designers who specialise in branding, content creation and 3D printing

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

In the East Street Window, we are fortunate to have two works by New Zealand born Sāmoan artist Petone Groom. Hung back-to-back, these sculptures reflect the artist’s Pasifika experience, where Sāmoan motifs like the four-pointed star, or fetu, often symbolise Pacific identity in logos, businesses, and public spaces.

Through digital 3D modelling Petone Groom brings the flower and star together as one physical object. These sculptures invite audiences to imagine new possibilities for Pacific design while remaining connected to its cultural roots.

Step inside Auckland’s iconic Chief Post Office, now officially New Zealand’s greenest heritage building.

Here, Deidre Gourlay, Cooper and Company development lead, Pam Sando, @cheshirearchitects project lead, and Lucy Hayes-Stevenson, @cheshirearchitects heritage lead, take us through the thoughtful design and sustainable refurbishment behind the building’s transformation.

It is now the country’s first heritage building to receive a @nzgreenbuildingcouncil 6 Green Star rating, setting a new benchmark in sustainable redevelopment 🌇

CIVIC: a Shifting Festival ⭕️

We have just wrapped up @shiftingcentre’s first ever arts festival here in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. A week of offerings, communal gatherings and exchange.

We saw a gap that needed to be filled for our fellow Indigenous peers, specifically in the Street-Dance community, to make and share in a space that held no expectations. So we thought “why wait?”, and with @sefa.tunupopo’s vision — CIVIC was born.

At its core, CIVIC was born out of a need to create an anchor in Pōneke for our community. A way of showcasing our incredibly talented friends to the wider landscape. Discovering dreams as a collective and working together to bring them into fruition. Looking inwards to each other for support, rather than outwards.

Knowing that we hold everything we need to make these dreams become reality.

And a reality it was.

Thankful to all who made this dream possible.
Our friends/peers/community.
Our whānau/kaiga/aiga/anau.
Our beautiful featured artists.
Our sponsors @teauaha @tawataproductions @pacificdance_nz.

Fakafetai, fakafetai, fakafetai lahi lele.

A special shoutout to my forever team @shiftingcentre for all of their individual hard/heart work in bringing this together. We did it team.

See you at CIVIC 2026 ❤️
