Everyday is Indigenous Peoples’ Day🤎🪶

We had the amazing honor to host the 4th annual IPD PHX Fest Run and Walk with @cahokiaphx @ovah_hillcreations.official and @azcenterphx
It was such a beautiful experience of native pride and strength. I could not help but see how much we shine and bring so much joy to every space we fill. I know this is how our ancestors survived so much, because when we get together nothing stops the laughter, connection and shared love. It was so great to meet so many new runners and finally meet others in person. The running community is so special.
It’s was so great combine a group run with so many indigenous arts and crafts. As our runners picked up bibs and got ready to run we were surrounded by Apache crown dancers and Aztec dancers. It elevated our community movement to another level of indigenous resilience and power.
We had such an awesome event!! Thank you for supporting and participating!

Huge shout out to @tortoiseandharesquad and @altrarunning for supporting, providing and volunteering. We had the coolest bibs, shirts, medals, awards and (soon) photos with their help! Thank you @moccasinrunning for your yearly help! And @native_women_run for sharing our event. And the biggest thank you to my sole sisters and family. We can’t do this without them. Love you!!

Love days and events like this. Not only did I get to hang with my sole sisters but we were nourished with community, knowledge and culture. Prevention is key, mental health matters and the bigger the earrings the better💝
I do find that attending intentional spaces brings out our light and ideas. I loved our conversations about doing and sharing more for our community. So inspiring✨

I’m so excited to start planning for this year’s Indigenous People’s Day run and walk. Save the date! Monday, October 12th at the Arizona Center.
Last year was an amazing time! The start and finish of the race was right down the corridor from the stage. That evening was filled with native music, food, art and laughter. It felt like the very definition of Indigenous joy. Moving together to honor all the tribes in Arizona was such a blessing and one that keeps giving because we showed up for our community and made it stronger.
This year I aim to keep creating this space for us to move together, connect and enjoy our vibrant culture. I hope to see there this year.

If you want to volunteer, donate or collaborate please reach out. Ipdphx.com

So thankful for my family & friends and the community partners that helped the run/walk last year!! @cahokiaphx @azcenterphx @lululemon @native_women_run @moccasinrunning @tortoiseandharesquad @guenergylabs
Thank you so much!!

Sam was worried she was late and the group might have left for the run but we laughed our loud auntie laughs (even at 5am) and her daughter said, Nope they’re still here. 🤣
It was a beautiful morning with these beautiful women! Love catching up and sharing some miles. We highly recommend this great trail.

We did it! Thank you to everyone that donated their gently used running shoes! Thank you @native_women_run Phx and @phx_run for your donations. And a huge congratulations and thank you to @stepforwardshoedonation who is providing the donations to the Navajo Nation community.

A big thank you to everyone who donated their shoes for @stepforwardshoedonation. Yesterday was the first set up at a @tcrhcc Just Move It event at the Coppermine Chapter House. We were able to provide 25 shoes to members in this community!! It was a great turnout and we are looking forward to seeing you at the next JMI event in Cedar Ridge!! We recommend you try on the shoe that works best for you at these events.

*If you would like to donate your used shoes bring them to the next event (Cedar Ridge, AZ) and we’ll gladly take them.

Thank you to @vacationraces,@native_women_run , @phx_run and @tcrhcc for giving us space in your community to provide a better running experience for others.

It’s always so good when we come together. We run, laugh and share. So many inspiring women to know and share a path with. We always have a great time together!
Also so glad we could run with and support @tonnerickac in her journey as a new run club leader (in Shiprock). Proud of her for making run club in her community. Building community is tough but we all need it and crave it so much that we can’t wait for the next group run:)
Until the next time, run in beauty ladies🪶💕
