A graduation post from Kyle at last!!! This May I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation at SCAD!!

I wanted to draw something special for it...and I thought what better to reference then one of my most fundamental medias: Ocarina of Time!

The next slides show just a few of the myriad of pictures taken throughout what I consider to be the best, most creatively fulfilling year of my life. I learned and grew so much from the amazing people that I have met at SCAD. Crispin and Marlowe my most beloved friends of four years, every Turbo-tastic superstar on SNUBBED, my greatest mentor and the guiding star of our film Professor Rachel Schmieg, and every other amazing friend and peer I have met during my time here has inspired me and changed my life for the better. I love you all so much! We WILL be working together again I can promise you all that! I miss you all so much already!

[Also if you got cropped out of a picture im so sorry Instagram really fought me ily]

My pitch for SCAD Capstone is The Showstoppers!

Logline: A family of misfits has to put on a show that starts in 2 minutes!

This film would be a hybrid animation that utilizes animation friendly designs for 2D and 3D characters! I’d like this to be my love letter to all mediums of animation, with 2-3 minutes of nonstop comedy paying tribute to all sorts of classic gags and a few inside jokes for my fellow animators. 💕

I’ve got lots of producing experience under my belt from a ton of indie projects I’ve hosted on my YouTube channel, but I’ve also had a blast doing some producer work here at SCAD in both past and present!

PAWS is the short film I produced last quarter! The art you see on the 6th slide is a screenshot from the film. Shoutout to my lovely co-directors @_inkflare_ & @rileyarts12 for helping me lead such an awesome team 🐻🐾

Baked with Love is the film I’m producing this quarter! The concept art on the 6th slide was a combination of layouts by @tiredchb and character art by @morninradio , both of whom I thank for letting me include their beautiful work in a meme 🥧🐑

Consider voting for The Showstoppers for the SCAD 2024 Capstone! It would be a blast to make such a fun film with so many talented folks! :>

Hi hi! My name is Val, I am currently a background revisionist in Have You eaten. I joined the project because I love the story concept, and how the food looks like when it’s animated <3 Im very excited for the release of the film and to see all of the hard work the team is putting out all together!! If you're looking for something yummy, I recommend the glorious Colombian arepa de choclo. She's sweeter than other arepas because she's made with sweet corn, and the consistency of a crepe, that when eaten with cheese is a delicious combo!!
