Reserved 🤍
1st Overall Senior Group. And extremely grateful we got to see it for a 2nd time, earning 1st Overall Pinnacle Champion at the Battle! Performance of the Year Award.

These girls 🥹 so insanely proud of them.
The story centers around the reserved chair at a wedding for someone who should’ve been there. It’s an emotion these dancers may not have experienced themselves yet, but that’s what I love about contemporary. They found their own connection to it. For some, it was the realization that this chapter of their dance lives is ending. Or Maybe they imagined walking across the graduation stage. For others, it meant something completely different. That’s the beauty of storytelling through dance; every interpretation is valid if it makes you feel something.

One of my favorite moments was going around and hearing who everyone envisioned in those chairs. For my two graduating seniors, it became about them. Watching their teammates dance for them and hearing them talk about the impact they’ve had as role models was something I’ll never forget. Forever love that shared emotional moment together.

Thank you, all of you, for trusting me with this vision and bringing it to life in a way I could’ve only hoped for! I love you all with my whole heart🤍 Sad to let this one go…

Wow, I’m unbelievably proud of this team. They continue to prove their strength, passion, and heart year after year💗
Every year we question whether we’re truly ready, but this year felt different. From the very beginning, our dancers and teachers made a conscious effort to bring so much positivity, and cherish our time together, especially knowing it was the final Nationals for 3 graduating seniors. With doing that, we had the most uplifting and fun week and we truly didn’t want it to end 😫
This Nationals reminded me that the best part of MDA has never been the awards… It’s the people. Yes, we had an incredible week with every group dance finishing in the Top 3, 7 of those being National Champions, 5 dances in the Battle, and 3 Pinnacle Champions!! As well as my group “Reserved” earning Performance of the Year and Taylor and I receiving, Choreographer of the Year for 11 and under for “Bad Girls.” But what we’ll remember most are the moments in between: all the emotional hugs, pep talks, team lunch, hype circles, and getting to experience this all with the people we love. We may be a small team, but our hearts are huge!!!

Thank you to our parents for always believing in us, your support means a lot. To the incredible women I get to work alongside, you inspire me daily and I’m forever grateful. And to every dancer who gave everything they had this summer, you should all be so proud. You earned every moment this week, and watching your hard work pay off was so rewarding 🥹

And to our 3 graduating seniors… thank you. Thank you for leading by example, for lifting up the younger dancers, and for showing them what kindness, dedication, and leadership truly look like. Please never underestimate the impact you’ve had. The younger kids have been watching you every step of the way, and they are better because of you. I already miss knowing I won’t have you in class next season, and it’ll be so different, but I know each of you is onto amazing things!

Congratulations, MDA, on an unforgettable Nationals! My heart is so full, and I will forever be grateful to be a small part of this incredible family 💕

I am in pure shock of this past week! Definitely an emotional roller coaster in the best way possible! I can’t describe how much I love all of these girls! Saying goodbye to some of my fav people is never easy and it gets harder and harder each year! But MDA absolutely swept the floor this year in OC! All of our groups placed top three! I was also incredibly lucky to be in some of my fav preteens dances as a step in for the 2nd time this year! Always such a positive mindset and a fun experience growing with these girls! @tayloryoho6 ! My fav redheads worked so hard this year and it paid off so well #national champs! @_morgan.stanley ! So many great things happened this week and im so incredibly grateful! @mariettadance_ohio

My last recital ever. I will forever miss going to dance every week and being able to feel what dance makes me feel. It’s indescribable and it’s hard knowing in 2 months it’ll all be over. 14 years of my life that’s just ending on a random day in July. I’m so grateful for the amazing teachers and friends I have made along the way. Thank you all for everything. Thank you to my family who has been with me and supported me the whole way. Dance will always be something I miss and it was my first love. The love that will never leave my heart. 🩷🤍
