POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Every day, thousands of veterans walk through the doors of the VA carrying stories, sacrifices, and battles most people will never see.

Today, through The Next Mission: You, we had the opportunity to give back in a small way. From donated supplies and food to simple conversations in the hallway, every act of kindness is a reminder that the mission does not end when the uniform comes off.

When a veteran tells you that a small box of cookies is the only meal they’ll have today, or that they haven’t had deodorant or a toothbrush in months, it changes your perspective. It reminds you that there is still so much work to do. The mission has only just begun.

The mission continues. This time, it’s personal. 🇺🇸

Today, @thenextmission_you spent the day at the VA hospital serving the men and women who once served all of us and paid an ultimate sacrifice. 🇺🇸

Many of the veterans here are injured, hurting, or fighting battles none of us can truly understand, yet so many still tell me they would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

That’s why we don’t give up on them.

Today was about reminding them they are seen, valued, and never alone. I had the pleasure of speaking to an 87 year old veteran who shared with me from his hospital bed how emotional he has been since having all of his teeth removed. He can’t eat, and he can’t talk.
Standing there powerless, all I was able to do was hold his hand and tell him about the resources that are available to him through VA Dental. We were taught to put others first for so long, to push through our own pain because it’s just weakness leaving your body, but at some point we all must advocate for ourselves.

The mission continues, but this time it’s personal. ❤️

Thousands of boxes of cookies were donated from the Girl Scouts to be distributed to veterans through ‘The Next Mission: You’ at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center. Watching veterans smile, laugh, and reconnect over something so simple reminded me how much the little things truly matter.

Thank you to the Girl Scouts for this unbelievably generous donation and for taking the time to give back to the men and women who served our country. Some of these veterans told me this box of cookies was the only thing they were going to be able to eat today. Your kindness has reached thousands of veterans and remind them that they are appreciated, remembered, and never forgotten.

This is exactly what The Next Mission: You is about. Community, support, and continuing the mission long after the uniform comes off. 🇺🇸
