🗝️Valentina Iacovelli is an Italian artist and photographer. Her artistic
exploration stems from the concept of photography as a theater, where reality is
staged and transformed, and subjects become characters.
Through mise-en
scène, bodies and clothing contribute to the construction of the image, within a
suspended and melancholic dimension.
The stage becomes a metaphor for life, a space where masks are worn and roles
are constantly played.
Backstage, on the other hand, represents what remains
hidden the place where one can reveal a more authentic part of oneself.
Her work unfolds precisely at the boundary between reality and fiction, between
what is shown and what one truly is. Through the creation of suspended
moments, she seeks a possible truth within fiction.

Desolate Sand II.

In a suspended time, without origin or end, two presences emerge from the sea.
There is no distance between body and landscape, only a passage.
The feminine surfaces as a force, alongside nature, which reveals itself as an emotional field.
Time remains undefined, and what appears feels like a memory without place. Presence becomes memory.

I had the fortune to meet this magnificent, visionary artist @valentinelis_ who uses photography as a medium to create.

When she asked me to pose for her, I felt deeply honored. To be seen through the lens of someone who truly observes, not just looks, as it’s a rare gift.

Not long ago, she was attacked and flooded with hateful messages. The usual dynamics: fragile egos, insecurity disguised as authority, people who use arrogance and disrespect as a shortcut to relevance. It is painful to witness how often, in the name of “art,” collaboration is replaced by competition, and respect by noise.

It makes me truly sad to see how difficult it has become for people to stand together in the name of creation, to uplift instead of diminish, to dialogue instead of destroy.
Ignorance and hostility seem louder than ever.

But poetry will always win.

And you, Valentina, you portray with poetry whatever stands before you. You don’t just capture an image,you translate a soul.

Never stop.
