If you want to have a vibey LA birthday, here are the 5 spots that I would recommend. Each of these has a different vibe but all are so special in their own way:

Javier's: this is where I went this weekend for my bday. It was so fun, gorgeous space and everyone else was celebrating something so it had great energy.
Mrs Fish: underground with an aquarium! Its so cool!
Edendale: if you want library/ old Hollywood vibes, this is the spot. The bar reminds me of NYC!
Highly Likely: the cutest wine bar if you're looking for something more intimate.
Perch: you know i love a rooftop and this one soars above the Los Angeles skyline. And the food is so so good.

back to corporate life for the week👇🏻

QUIN… why the heck are you at a HAIR SHOW???

A little backstory… before I blew up my entire life at 28 to live in a van w/ my cats, I was a super type a corporate girlie.

I worked as a marketing director for 7.5 years for the hair magazine, @behndthechair_com and helped produce @thebtcshow. And I LOVED my job. Honestly, when someone asks me if I miss my old life, I do. I miss having co-workers and working for a larger goal outside of social media (obvi I love what I do now too).

So why was I there giving a presentation… I LOVE social media and I LOVE the hair industry and I LOVE to teach. Social media changed my life, so my goal this weekend was to help teach others how to do the same. Maybe not blow up their life like me (LOL) but how social media can help open doors you never knew existed.

& because I have a marketing background & live this day to day, I put together two presentations. One 1.5 hour small workshop class for 100 ppl and then one 45-minute mainstage presentation for 2,000ppl that had over 80 slides of everything I know about social media.

& then it’s also because I am here supporting my family 💖

I grew up watching my mom, @marybehindthechair build @behindthechair_com from the ground up. People told her the idea would never work because hairdressers wouldn’t be smart enough to be on the internet… but instead she bet everything on it. It took five years to become profitable (and she almost bankrupted our family multiple times).

Today, BTC has become one of the biggest platforms in the industry for hairdressers. Watching her take that risk taught me that sometimes the “crazy” idea is the one worth chasing.

Now I need to go self isolate in the woods for the next few weeks after talking to that many people hahaha
