Since we know our Monday mornings can get wheelie tire-some 🚲, let’s shift gears and focus on the #MovementMonday photo of the week. Here's Chris and his friends biking through #ValleyForge National Historic Park on a beautiful spring day. Send us a pic of how you stay active to be featured next! Link in bio.

Sometimes you have to just get out of town and take a walk to clear your mind. Today was that day.

Our friends at @wvtownship Police Department shared the following about sharing the road and trails with horseback riders, bikers, dog walkers, and anyone else using @valleyforgepark! Make sure to give it a read!

Members of our equestrian community have asked us to post the following reminder for drivers of vehicles, as well as bicyclists, approaching riders on horseback. Always remember to slow down immediately and give plenty of room when passing. Thank you!‘Spring is Sprung, it is truly time to get outside and rejuvenate our souls. Our West Vincent Township is Paradise and becoming very popular to hike, bike, ride, run, walk, jog, stroll, dog walk, horseback ride, roller blade, skateboard, and drive through. West Vincent Township is also full of blind turns and switchback roads. So let's navigate safely, with proper communication, and passing with room for error. When walking on the road, be certain to walk facing oncoming traffic. Your eyes and ears will assist you in staying safe. Drivers are to slow down to 15 mph as soon as they see any person/object/animal loose, ridden or being walked (deer, cows, dogs, horses, bikers, hikers, etc...). When passing the person/object/animal make certain the other lane is clear of oncoming traffic, giving the person/object/animal at least a car width of space and do not startle (beep or rev engine) driving slowly away. Drivers be prepared for anything around that corner and take your time to pass with consideration for others. Bikers are pedaling hard to get up that hill and whizzing down them. As a biker, you have the advantage visually of what you are approaching. It is in your best interest to "Greet" as soon as you see the other person. Greeting when you have visual, takes the panic away before you pass. Saying, "hey there, coming up on your left/right," will work pretty well in most cases. Have you ever heard music sooths the savage beast? An amazing trick to passing (especially horseback riders) is to sing your ABC's as soon as you have visual, you will be amazed at the way this rhythm takes a lot of the stress out of the passing situation. Try it.

Fun ride with the MTCC Philly crew! It was my first group ride in over two months and a lot chillier than I would have liked. What a difference from two days ago, when I rode in short sleeves and shorts! The ride was front loaded with the hills and then we got off track a couple of times on the way back. I could feel a headwind in almost every direction. I managed to get a 3rd place QOM somewhere, thanks to @theinfinitloop on bike nutrition and recovery drink.

Got home changed and took a big ´ol nap!!!

Update from the first bird walk of the season! Interesting walking conditions - cold, gray, overcast, blowing, snowing, with birds taking shelter. Not ideal for the 17 of us, including 2 new people. This was a tenacious group. The highlight of our walk for me was the Bald Eagle which we saw two times, once east of the meadows and then again circling near us when we reached the parking lot. I think everyone got a look at the Pileated Woodpecker, which is always special, and Tony captured photos of the male and female before most participants arrived as well as other good shots of the birds we saw this morning. Thanks so much, Tony.

Our next walk is March 28th 8 AM in the Artillery parking lot in @valleyforgepark.

To check out the full list of birds spotted on the wall, look at the checklist online at https://ebird.org/checklist/S130895852

Hades welcoming

Thankfully it was super bright! Really needed that extra light to go fully hand held and try to visualize and capture the people's movement.

What was especially tiring was waiting for someone with the right cadence, right direction , and right group size to walk into the frame , at the same time keeping everyone else out of the frame 😅

But definitely a great way to end the early morning foggy photography exploration!
