Step back in time and experience the charm of a bygone era with this stately 1835 Colonial home, once owned by retail magnate J.C. Penney and originally serving as the farmhouse for the legendary 1,000-acre Emmadine Farm. Rich in history and full of character, this 5-bedroom, 2.5-bath residence blends old-world elegance with modern comforts, offering over 3,765 square feet of thoughtfully updated living space.
At the heart of the home lies a large gourmet kitchen, designed to bring people together. With two walk in pantries, a wine fridge, and an ice maker, this space is as functional as it is inviting. Ideal for lively gatherings or quiet mornings by the fireplace. Just off the kitchen, the formal dining room boasts a tin ceiling and an ornate built-in speakeasy cabinet, complete with a hidden Prohibition-era compartment that whispers stories of another time. Step through the French doors and find yourself on a grand wraparound porch, where summer evenings and starlit conversations await.
The center hallway leads to a spacious sitting room, anchored by a massive Adirondack-style stone fireplace and a new wood-burning stove. Double French doors open to invite in the breeze or lead to the porch. There’s also a dedicated office, a laundry room, and a private parlor that offers a quiet retreat that leads out to heated saltwater pool.
Upstairs, five bedrooms await. The prodigious primary suite offers an en-suite bathroom with claw foot bath and walk in closet which is rare for the era. Two larger bedrooms provide ample natural light and storage, while two cozier rooms mirror each other across the landing. Down the hall, a generous walk in linen closet with built-in drawers and cubbies adds to the home’s thoughtful touches. Located just 59 miles from Manhattan, with easy access to both New Hamburg (7 miles) and Beacon (12 miles) train stations.
$849,000.00 BAC 2%. #realestate #hudsonvalley #realestateagent #hudsonvalleyny #historical #historicalhomes #historicalhouse

This beauty checks all the boxes. Turn key brick contemporary. Check. On a quiet dead end road, that’s still only 1.2 miles from the center of Rhinebeck village. Check.

Welcome to Wynkoop Lane. A fully renovated 4 bedroom 3.5 bath home that flows over 3528 square feet. The open floor plan lives the way you would want. The high end kitchen with its professional grade Bertazzoni appliances is the heart of the home. The over sized island seats five comfortably. The Sky lights capture the natural light and casts beams of sunshine. A double sided fireplace faces both the dinning room and the sunken sitting room. Glass doors placed exactly where you would want them open out to the expansive wrap around deck and private backyard.
The primary bedroom has a floor to ceiling window that looks directly into the forest. There’s a sun room/green house. The bathroom is stunning with a large shower and soaking tub with its own picture window into the woods.
The other bedrooms are spacious and have high ceilings. The bathrooms are tastefully renovated. There’s an apartment with its own kitchen, loft and entrance.
Here’s another box you can check, efficiency. The home has Geothermal heating that cut cost by 50%. There’s a full power back up generator and two car large garage.
Last box to check. Make an appointment. This one won’t last long. BAC 2%

Lower Race Brook Falls🌿💦

Located in the Sheffield, Massachusetts and along the Application Trail. Race Brook Falls consists of multiple tiers. This is the lowest and most dramatic drop of the falls at 80 feet.

While visiting I met a young couple looking to get a closer to the falls. I used my @canonusa R5 w/ 70-200mm to capture from afar.
