for about 18 months this song was referred to as soulful baby daddy. turbz had a few dj sets in LA and we started chopping this piano that reminded me of the 🐐 bon iver and i told him lets do some freestyle / rich baby daddy type drums for massive contrast. can’t believe that idea worked to be honest 😂

This one feels a lot different than the others. It’s finally out. My bad on the long roll out. You gotta understand, a lot of this was happening in real time. I didn’t know if this would be an album. I was just creating to survive to be honest. So I say that to say, at least one time — listen in order. This album was sequenced in chronological order of events. But in my humble opinion, this perfectly captures the up and down nature of when a relationship is falling apart. The initial shock, the bounce back of hope you can fix it, the anger etc. The first song was written in Feb or March of 2023. The last song was done in early December 2025.

Not gonna ramble on about the real life events of things, but I will say I worked so fucking hard on this. Some of these songs have hundreds of vocal takes for like a word or some shit. I know yall like my singing voice but let’s be honest I’m a rapper masquerading as a singer lmao. I also produced on every song, only for the simple fact it was the only way I could create. This was a story I had to tell on my own...as much as I possibly could. Then I’d pull the guys in who are actually good at production to help me see it through. I’m forever grateful to them.

Anyway, as I said it yours now. It’s not mine anymore. From the bottom of my heart, I hope it does for you what it did for me. Be nice to it. I couldn’t be more proud. And let me know your favorites?
