Grandpa Mo, the Kokomo Kid, the king of The Kantrowitz Family, left us this week, but his grin is etched forever in our hearts.

He wasn’t just the patriarch of the Jewish side of my family, he was pure sunshine & endless laughter, one who turned every gathering into a celebration. Almost 90 years young, he lived life with a twinkle in his eye and a joke (sometimes corny, always heartfelt) on his lips. He taught us the importance of gathered family, the joy of a good meal shared, and the power of a smile to chase away any cloud- a trait he most definitely passed on to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. I will miss his classic Donald Duck quack & his infectious chuckle. But most of all, we will all miss his love, big & unconditional, like a piled-high TooJay’s breakfast.

He may be gone, but his spirit, his warmth, his zest for life- it lives on in every one of us in the Kantrowitz clan who loved him dearly.
