Pt 3/5 - I want to thank my mostly BIPOC female crew for showing up and fucking killing it for The Tenant. The amount of talent that these women have just keeps me in awe.

My 1st AD Marlo went above and beyond her duties to help this film get finished and was a voice of calm, reason and problem solving at all times with the perfect mix of ready & laughing at the same time!

My art director Ekaterina, took our small little world on her shoulders and while it was not easy for her, she was prepared, knew what she was doing and absolutely killed it! And our Art PA Laura was so supportive in helping Ekat which helped us move quicker!

Our 1st AC Laisa was so solid the entire time, ready and extremely capable. Nick and I offered her to cam op our sex scene while Nick pulled focus so that it was a closed set of just women behind camera to help our actors feel more comfortable and she killed it!

Our soundie Mayra came through with the expertise and joined in on the fun and joking while being extremely helpful in teaching our cam PA, Gabi, how to slate properly. Gabi knew nothing at the beginning of day 1 but came ready to learn and picked up fast by end of the shoot!

I had 3 G&E girls. Taylor & Shannon tag teamed to Gaff and Im-Sun key-gripped and they were solid, ready and quick throughout the entire shoot. Shannon was super helpful in offering some workarounds to steal shots since the set up was pretty much ready and I love that kind of forward thinking!

Our PA’s Mercianna and Adriana went above and beyond to stay proactive, help out anywhere and everywhere and stay ready and CJ & Angie were on standby ready to help when called on!

Our MUA&H Darlene is just an all around fucking rockstar. One of the sweetest women you’ll ever meet with a heart of gold and a master of her craft.

Last but not least, our BTS team - Natalie getting ALL the BTS video that I am so excited to share and our homeowner/pro photographer Bahareh getting us these gorgeous photos on this post! Memories of the shoot are my favorite part.

This shoot would not have happened with out all of you coming prepared and ready to rock with us! THANK YOU!!! If you’re looking for crew, PLEASE HIRE THEM!

So tired but my heart is so full. That’s a wrap on The Tenant and I can’t wait to show y’all what everyone in this picture (and the many that are not pictured) were able to help me create. 🥰

This is right after we nailed a gimbal 360 shot that I was so excited about and we all watched together during playback. ☺️

I’ve always been intimidated by music videos—the best ones seem to come from a cleverness and kind of conceptual storytelling that I wish came more naturally to me. For my first one, the only way to counter my impostering was to assemble a team of geniuses, the people who’d made the videos I’d adored from afar. It’s always so rewarding, though, when you find those people and realize they’re as lovely and warm as they are talented.

Still, making this asked a lot of them. Creating a world worthy of Adele and her daydreamers meant @liam.mooore and his feverdreamers would have to spin a drab parking lot into luscious riverbed overnight. En route, the only heavy lifting @whitjack didn’t do was carry the literal weight of Liam’s scaffolding—she and her team put the production on their backs and refused to drop our 10,000 pound ambitions. @ntombimoyo , @kevinarnett and their costume dept gave each actor along the river their own technicolor spirit and @sweetbabyjamie and @pppiccioli pulled off the unthinkable, designing, then making Adele’s 70-pound dress in 10 days. Old friends were critical too— @knucklewood continued his reign as the gruffest man to make the prettiest images, and old faithful @robbbbb.richert was my righthand through the edit. Eboni Nichols brought movement to my still ideas and the women of the @aquabatixusa swim team were the nicest, most can-do sirens to ever stalk any waters.

And then there’s @adele who put all this trust in me, having only made one movie. I don’t know any other world-reigning icons, but I’m hard pressed to imagine anyone at that level being a more gracious, generous person than her. She supported us in the making of this in every way a fellow artist can. I feel like the luckiest boy in a Giants hat.
