POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

From playing in a band to building a platform for musicians to leading a publicly listed company, @joshsimons365 has a few stories to tell 🎸

His most useful business lessons came from the moments when things didn’t go to plan.

The @vamprapp co-founder and @vinylmediaoz CEO joins Anna on the latest @authentic.advantage to talk about starting again overseas, keeping a business alive when investors lose patience, and finding customers without chasing viral fame.

Tomorrow our first single BRIGHTSIDE drops. This band came together a little over a year ago through a beautiful musician dating app called @vamprapp. First Emerson found Andrew, and then we found our little pupling Mick. While there was no romantic chemistry, there was a beautiful seed planted for a musical bond that would grow into an even better friendship.
Tomorrow we share a piece of that journey that took a lot of time and love. And patience. Lots of patience. We hope it blows the hair straight off your scalp. <3 Nexus Ranger

Sound on, if you please. 🔊
I finished a new piece this week: "The Hunt."

It's a moody, modal cue, written for thriller and chase scoring with dark strings, uneasy piano, harp, and a bowed saw!

This is part of what I do under Sea of Reeds, my one-person studio. I compose original music, edit podcasts and audio dramas, and handle video post-production. Every word, note, and frame gets sculpted and fitted to your project.

“Everything that I’ve ever had has come from working in and loving music.”

One of my favourite moments from my conversation with @joshsimons365. A reminder that music isn’t just something we listen to — it shapes the people we meet, the opportunities we find, the paths we take, and ultimately, the people we become.

What has music given you? 🎶 #music #psychology #podcast #musicpsychology

Here they are, the first of our amazing sponsorship crew this year! 🎉 With a shift from one national final, to twelve regional finals, there's a hell of a lot of work happening behind the scenes to deliver 12 incredible prize packages for our winners this year.

Huge thanks to @jblaustralia @gyro.music @voltagecableco @vamprapp @heapsnormal @djwarehousehire @whobroughtmathilde for the support across the whole competition this year, and to @asharprecordingstudio @kilnstudios @huntinggroundstudios @9t9100 @spaghettiwolfstudios @rsom @plugthatjackin for your support regionally 💙

We are by no means done, and more prize announcements will continue over the next few weeks.

Some key changes to note:
- there are just 7 weeks left to enter!
- there have been changes to the locations, and dates, of some finals (slide 3 has the up-to-date list)
- very unfortunately we won't be able to put on a Darwin show this year, but we will be bringing back an old favourite location; Wagga Wagga!

Get your entries in now through the link in our bio 🔗

late to posting a february recap that no one asked for but HERE IT IS ANYWAYS!!! 🙇🏻‍♀️

a few highlights of my progress and journey, and all the amazing people who have been making music a reality for me <3

i didn’t realize how much my day-to-day would change from exploring the scene to a focus on recording/production. it’s almost a little isolating since i don’t see the faces and hear the voices of the community that made me feel like getting to this point was even possible. definitely thankful to be learning another side of the music world, even if it’s overwhelmingly daunting most of the time (i have constant anxiety teehee) 🤍
