🦥 Reading Check-In + Haul 🦥⠀
⠀
Interesting that when I mentally signed the terms and conditions of my self imposed book buying ban I conveniently left out library holds🥴⠀
⠀
Picked up 3 MONTHS of library holds from my hometown library last weekend and if i’m being honest have been cruising that new book high since lmao. I’ve had some of these books on my TBR for over a year and a couple I actually bullied (politely suggested via online form) my library into getting and I’m especially excited to dive into those. Currently reading Freshwater which I can already tell is going to be a pivotal read. And yes, I still have books that I own that I have not read but as we know I am deeply irresponsible in that arena. ⠀
⠀
I hope everyone’s doing well. For once, I actually have things to post about; I finished a couple books at the end of last month. But I’ve been paralyzed by distraction. California is burning and I feel so despondent about the state of the climate crisis on top of everything else. As much as I think the reckoning of this year has been a long time coming, it’s overwhelming to watch the world pushed to the ceiling for disaster news every day. I want to feel like we have a chance to make Real change, but mostly I just feel powerless. Wishing for fortitude and endurance and the triumph of struggle for the rest of the year ✨
