DISLOCATION BY CRISP

THROWBACK: VANDAL presented Dislocation by international street artist CRISP, sponsored by Young Henrys, as part of the Sydney Fringe Festival’s 10th anniversary.

Opening at VANDAL Gallery on September 12, the exhibition delivered record-breaking sales, with 12 works sold on opening night and another five the following week.

CRISP dedicated the exhibition to his late friend Sam Gibson, with part of the proceeds going towards a memorial mural in Bogotá—where Sam helped establish a foundation supporting children and adults affected by poverty and neglect.

“Sam’s passion, selflessness and humanity to others will always be remembered.” — CRISP

A huge turnout, powerful work and a night that left its mark.

Here’s a little behind-the-scenes look: a simple time-lapse where you can see the entire artwork come together.

In the second video, my artwork was animated by VANDAL. Every single leaf and flower in the illustration was placed on its own layer (over 100 layers for outlines and colour), so huge shoutout to the animation team for bringing it to life. I can’t even imagine how annoying that must’ve been to work with.

Big thanks to Apple for having me!

P.S. My iPad is on its last legs… if Apple wants to send me a new one, please do 👀 It’s my birthday next week!

An inspiring evening 💗

Clare and Simone attended a deeply moving exhibition last week, The Unsaid Collection, featuring the work of a young breast cancer survivor and WIF patient. She has bravely documented her journey through diagnosis and treatment to help others better understand the realities and complexities of living with breast cancer.

Her honesty and courage in sharing such a personal experience is incredibly powerful, and we’re grateful to witness and support stories that raise awareness and understanding.

If you’d like to explore her work or visit the exhibition, you can learn more here:

💗 A gentle reminder to know your body and check your breasts regularly. If you notice any changes, speak with your GP.

Would love for everyone to drop by the gallery and check out Unsaid.

Over the course of 2024 I spent time with Rhi, photographing her as she navigated the steps around her diagnosis and treatment.
Unsaid is a record of that time, a conversation starter, and a resource for those experiencing similar.
