Lets talk Makeup❣️💄 Sydney based hair and makeup artist Vanessa @vanessadeluca is a rare find. An incredible hairdresser and a talented makeup artist capable of doing makeup that is light, elegant and feels like an enhanced version of yourself! This is such a rare skill! 👏 I thought I was pretty skilled at makeup and had nothing much to learn until Vanessa did my makeup 😲 It was such an elevated look. I quizzed her as she worked on my face and these are her notable tips and product recommendations

🔹 Use a light hand- to help achieve this, for contouring and blush use extra soft, light and fluffy brushes. For foundation, the blending brush should be more dense but still look for ones that are very soft

❣️For foundation and blending, one of Vanessa’s favourite brushes is the @meccacosmetica ‘All over blending’ brush. I ran out to buy this after she used it in me, so soft ☁️!)

🔹Powder, not stick/cream contour is better for a more natural, lighter look. For makeup on those of us say 30 and over, contour doesn’t need to be as striking, especially if you’ve lost a bit of fullness in your cheeks. Pressed powder contour products as opposed to creams can provide a softer finish which you can still build on and blend out. I got this wrong and was avoiding powders. I am now a powder contour convert. I really could not master this step, I now see I was using the wrong product

❣️ Vanessa used @hourglasscosmetics Ambient Bronzer in ‘Radiant Bronze Light’ bronze combined with a staple classic @narsissist Orgasm blush (the powder rather than the liquid/cream) to achieve this cheek look

🔹Your brows really can never be too full! The fluffier the better

❣️ Vanessa’s favourite product used here to achieve a full, youthful brow is @amy.jean.official ‘Lamination Brow Gel’

🙌 Final piece of wisdom from Vanessa; stop looking to 18-25 year olds make up tutorials for advice because they’re only going to show you tips for that skin type, aka packed with abundant collagen et al!
