First @calgarymarathon (Half) completed ✔️

The energy from the racers, the city, and my loved ones coming out to support was something special and I’ll remember this first one forever.

Originally set a goal of 1:40 when I started my training but injured my knee at the beginning of April which set me back a lot, to a point where I was questioning if I could even risk doing it. After reframing my mindset I continued to heal and train with a goal of finishing the race without any injuries, not having a time goal.

I can happily say I did not injure myself and honestly learned so much through the whole process of training and doing the actual race. The biggest struggle for me was probably over hydrating during the race causing me to hit almost every porto-potty stop (legitimately spent 7-10 min combined at those stops 😂). I’ll have to train my bladder for next time.

I finished with a chip time of 1:55:54 and couldn’t be happier, also knowing the improvements I can make to smoothly get in the 1:30-40s.

This weekend was unforgettable, thank you #calgarymarathon 🙏
