Some of my favourite memories growing up are from eating at a cha chaan teng in Hong Kong. If you’ve never been, a cha chaan teng is a Hong Kong-style café & diner. You can order things like macaroni and ham soup, a pineapple bun, Instant Noodles with Luncheon Meat and Fried Egg, or my all-time favourite, baked pork chop on rice. But the real reason you go is the milk tea. 

Smooth, strong, refreshing, and for me, pure nostalgia. They usually make it with evaporated and condensed milk.
 My grandma loves it. My dad loves it. I love it.
 And now Leon loves it too!
 When I first brought him to a cha chaan teng, he’d never had anything like it. 

Now we go every couple of weeks to eat our favourite meal and catch up with our families over that same milk tea.
 That tea has been on my mind the whole time we’ve been building Superboba.

It’s not something we invented, but it’s something I grew up with and wanted to share.
 And now it’s finally here.

P.S. If you love our Classic, you’re probably wondering how this one compares. Classic is rich, malty and full-bodied, with a hint of honey. Our HK Milk Tea is still bold, but more refreshing, with a subtle floral note and a velvety finish I honestly can’t get enough of 🙂

The people I used to watch on YouTube are now people I call friends. 🥹 How the heck did this happen?! URL → IRL. When I left civil engineering for tech, nobody around me was on the same path. So I enrolled in YouTube University, learning from creators I admired from afar and online mentors like @thechrisdo. For years, that's what carried me. This year I made the shift: from online to in person. I went to find those online heroes locally, and recently I got to sit with them at the same table. So grateful. The Creator's Table is how we're bringing that home and pouring it back into Vancouver. Most creatives are incredibly talented, but almost none were taught how to market and sell their work. This event was all about marketing, and modern-day marketing is content. So good to see so many different creators in one room. Huge thank you to @vanessalau.co @coffeelicker @scottyujan for sharing your experience, time and expertise with us, and to @thepeteyoung @_ygstudio for co-hosting. 🙏 It's hard to find people who get it.
