Some people make it out of the hood and never look back. Some even become embarrassed of where they come from. But that will never be me. I am, and always will be, proud to be a Bayway kid! 🤪😭
This community helped shape me into the woman I am today, and I wear that with so much pride. There is so much beauty, strength, love, and resilience in our community, and I embrace every part of it.
When I look into the eyes of these children, I see a reflection of my younger self. I see the same dreams, the same hope, and the same endless possibilities. And every time I come back, I want them to see more than just someone who made it out. I want them to see what’s possible for themselves.
I am a reflection of where they come from and a reminder of where they can go. Whatever they dream of becoming, I want them to know that their circumstances do not determine their future.
I am living proof that where you start does not define how far you can go. And no matter how far life takes me, I’ll never forget where it all began. Thank you to everyone of you guys that was involved 🫶🏽💕
