Here’s an artist from every Aussie state + territory you should add to your rotation this week.

✰ NSW: @vanfleur__ - Mother Earth

Van Fleur is an insanely talented multi-instrumentalist from Newcastle (Mulubinba). Everything you hear in this jazzy experimental number is completely self composed + produced.

✰ VIC: @lunarlagooon - Miles

Loving this Naarm alt-electronic group. If you like King Krule or The Streets, you’ll love these guys.

✰ WA: @littleguilt - freakshow

Perth indie 5-piece Little Guilt have me feeling reflective and a lil sentimental with their lush synthy sound. Big fan.

✰ QLD: @musicsundaymusic - Washing All The Pieces

The sound of Brisbane electronic/indie/soul artist Sunday, is both moody and velvety smooth. Love the guitar in this one.

✰ TAS: @kudujoy - Clarity

Can’t believe I’m only just discovering this song now… obsessed. Jazzy, soulful alt-pop at its finest.

✰ NT: @drifting__clouds - Bawuypawuy

Had this one on repeat for a while now, so much so it made my @triple_j h100 votes. From northeast Arnhem Land, Drifting Clouds channel an eclectic and deeply dynamic sound, where culture is at the centre of their craft.

✰ ACT: @dogworldband - 777

Canberra born (now Naarm-based) four-piece dogworld mix post-punk and indie rock. Edgy and melodic - all the good stuff.

For Ausmusic Month, we are platforming some of our state’s key music heroes, venues, collectives & other institutions throughout November. Every day, we’ll be giving a special shout out, following the alphabet from A-Z.

Today, we honour data-driven research and consultancy agency Vibelab (@vibelab_network) as our ‘V’ of NSW music.

It’s hard to choose just one to highlight – tag your ‘V’ music heroes, collectives & venues below!

Be sure to check out our A-Z of NSW music playlist, featuring @vvpete, @val.moogz, @vettaborne, @vinewoodrally & more.

MusicNSW’s A-Z of NSW music is an extension of @ausifyau, calling on everyone to uplift Australian music and search, defy & listen.

The debut from @vanfleur__ has arrived, “Mother Earth” is a textured and ethereal soundscape, with a melody that shimmers across a driving, trance-inducing groove.

“Mother Earth was inspired by a magical moment I had on Gumbaynggirr Country on the north-east coast of Australia, at a place called ‘The Promised Land’. It was a super hot summers day, icy cold fresh water trickled down the creek leading to a beautiful waterhole”
