One event, two brands, two design languages.
Siemens went moody and sculptural with mega texture, petrol blue and chrome accents with a little edge like the @framacph @vanmokum T-Lamp. Bosch was the perfect counterpart. All fun, colorful details and silly shapes.

We’re delighted to announce that VANMOKUM will be participating in Workspace Design Show Amsterdam, taking place 24–25 November 2027 at RAI Amsterdam.

VANMOKUM brings together an international portfolio of design brands, including Graypants, whose approach to lighting explores how design can strengthen our connection with the natural world.

A standout example is Graypants’ Sunne collection, a solar lamp designed by Marjan van Aubel. Responding to the changing colours of sunlight throughout the day, Sunne brings the rhythm of daylight indoors while supporting our natural circadian rhythm.

This connection to nature is also reflected in Loci at Cascada, a wellness-focused hotel where a custom installation of glass pendants transforms the stairwell. Interacting with daylight by day and creating a warm, inviting glow by evening, the installation turns a functional space into a striking feature.

Discover VANMOKUM and its brands at Workspace Design Show Amsterdam.

NEW ARTICLE ONLINE on vosgesparis.com 👉 If you have been reading vosgesparis for some time, you might know that I have always loved a good amount of brutalism. Over the years, I have written about many interiors where zinc, metal and aluminium take centre stage, featured homes in concrete and used several industrial pieces of furniture in my own home. My love for metal in interiors has never really gone away. I still have a beautiful industrial cabinet, and the metal table I designed and had made is still in my kitchen today.

Lately, I have been thinking a lot again about steel and aluminium in interiors. Not so much in the industrial way, but in more refined finishes such as matt or brushed aluminium. I like the contrast they could bring to a room, especially in my kitchen next to the dark wood and black stone. I think using aluminium here could add a little tension and architectural sharpness without making it feel to industrial. It is also why I keep looking at different ways to bring this material into my kitchen, perhaps through a stainless steel island or an aluminium table, I really love the Tasca Table by @framacph this and more about the changes I already made at home in today’s article #aluminium

Sometimes you meet people who don’t just listen to your story—they believe in it.

I’m proud to share that SmetMan.Amsterdam and VANMOKUM are taking a new step together.

Starting this autumn, the SmetMan Sessions will take place once a month on a Friday evening at PANDVANMOKUM. A place where musicians can meet, create together and build genuine connections.

What makes these evenings even more special is the setting. The sessions will take place in the heart of UNKNOWN Gallery, where musicians perform surrounded by the artworks that fill the space. A place where music, visual art and the people who love both come together.

SmetMan.Amsterdam will also be placing a piano in PANDVANMOKUM. It will be there for pianists who feel inspired to sit down and play—not only during the SmetMan Sessions, but also whenever the space invites a spontaneous musical moment.

A special thank you to Arno. From our very first conversation, I felt he didn’t just hear the plans—he believed in the philosophy behind SmetMan.Amsterdam. Thank you as well to VANMOKUM for the trust and for creating the space to help this dream become reality.

The date of the very first SmetMan Session will be announced soon.

Real people. Real stories. Real Amsterdam

2. Met 5 man alles de berg op sjouwen..

En nu genieten van het paasontbijt! 🐣
