In honor of Latine Heritage Month, I wanted to take a minute to showcase Latine MC’s within queer romance. As a proud Latina, seeing my people & culture represented is an indescribable feeling. However, seeing my people represented in queer romance is another joy I can’t put into words. If you know me personally, or have followed me for a while, then you know that I firmly believe that ALL representation matters.

Without a huge history lesson, I think it’s well known that the relationship between the Latino community, queer rep, and the history of homophobia is complex & deeply layered. We still have so many barriers to break down & work to be done. These are the kinds of stories myself and many others needed (and still need) growing up, this is the kind of love that should be “normalized” within our culture, but sadly isn’t. I won’t bore you with the specifics, but those of us who have grown up within the Latine culture, know how harmful machismo, stereotypes, religion, & community (bee-hive mentality) can be.

Seeing these authors give a representation that allows people to see their full, authentic selves in stories about queer love, is something that I will forever cherish. Thank you helping many feel seen, heard & loved through your stories & rep 🥰💜

With all my recs, I've either read these authors before or have their books on my tbr list, so I can guarantee their absolutely incredible. So by no means is this all the incredible authors that I could have put on here. 🩶
